Could you just reuse the soda after catching it in the tub?

I have read you can save some of the soda for reuse. You would need a tarp, a box would be waaay to dusty. But it is degraded and is sold a one time use. I bought a 40lb bag and used about half.

Sweet page two! I wonder how many pages till I have a rig to put all this crap.

Would you say it's worth it to soda blast an axle? would you want to after blasting the cases? Just trying to figure out the best way to rebuild my 83 axle, and I know I wanna clean it and do it right...

The soda will take paint off/Grim off, but won't touch rust or etch the metal for paint.. You also have to wash the soda residue off with soap and water before painting.

I have sand blasted axles in the past and it does a really nice job, but is a pregnant dog to clean the sand out. A wire wheel on a grinder is another way to go.

Lazy Pitty! At 80+ pounds he gets heavy quick.

So as some of you know I might be moving soon and while I should have my tools and a little space but no bench, So I made an adapter that allows my diff jig to bolt to my engine stand. No work bench needed.

Turned out nice.

As seen above I have a lot of T-case parts in all different conditions. I am in the process of cleaning, sorting, derusting and coating all the parts, which will allow long term storage. This is my first time using Evaporust and the long term rust protection.

This stuff is $$ but they said it was super good at what it does.

This is only about half the parts. The other half need more attention before coating.

If you see it, its for sale.

So I got new hardware for the my transfercase rebuild. For what ever reason, they removed the flat washer and now only have the ripple washer. They are 2mm shorter to compensate for it.

Qt 7   90080-11340  35mm (37mm old)
Qt 4   90119-10115  110mm (112 old)
Qt 9   90119-A0140  45mm (47mm old)
Qt 4   91611-B0825  25mm (27mm old)

Qt 4   90250-10214 Case pins

Rust inhibition, I generally wrap my items in newspaper, and spray it down with WD-40, or any oil based spray I have.

There is some marine grade grease a buddy uses, that is really good.  I can't remember what its called, but its some serious :pokinit:!!  He said he ruined his wife's washer cause there was some on his pants.

Emsvitil, on the Oregon Coast, you have to use grease or a oil based product, or you will have nothing but a pile of rust before long.

This is why my rear diff will never rust out with a bad pinion seal.

Packing stuff up in case I have to move soon.

Picked up the case from the anodizer. Anodizing cast doesn't allow color, but I like how it turned out. Seals everything and should keep it looking good.

Test fit everything. It is going to look awesome!

BLAM-O!

So where do I pick up my award for cleanest case?

Can we drop anything that doesn't say, "Do Not Drop," one it?  Are you going to find out that you're moving after the fact?
