they do work in the front but suck pretty bad since they are so long. there are a few guys that have run them but they had a horrible approach angle. remember they are centered so u are goin to have 31.5 inches of spring between the axle and the front hanger.

i've seen 63's front and rear on a scout years ago. worked great.. .tons of flex and was really stable. never on a toyota though..

budget?   rears up front or 44044's work well.

This is my truck about 6 years ago on 44044's

Springs!
********************************

44044 SPRINGS
44044s are Rancho Jeep Wagoneer Lift Springs.
Length: 47" (Length is eye to eye)
Center Pin split (front/rear) 22.5"/24.5"
Bushing: 2 3/4" & 3"
Lift: 5.25 - 5.5" (Lift is approximate and uses 1.5" longer than stock shackles giving 3/4" of lift)
Cost: $250 (Cost is for both sides incl. shipping/give or take)
44044's do not (by themselves) move your axle forward. They are the same length on the front half as stock toys (22.5"). While they do move the axle forward because of the lift they provide (arch in spring), when they compress to the point that they are flat, it's the same. Estimated 1/2" of actual axle relocation forward.

This is fairly old so you can find them much cheaper or even used on for sale sections of 4x4 forums.

If you want further info take a look at PBB's FAQ. It has ALOT of useful info... scroll down to "springs" for different setups, specs ect.

I have stock waggys but I used a 2" drop box and moved it forward 1.5 inches. All together I get about 6" of lift. Not really sure how to accuratly measure my lift but if I had to guess I'd say 4-5" is a good estimate. I know its a lot bigger than my original 2" toy spring lift.

Here are some pics for you pork chop, this is my 85 4runner, 2" drop box, stock 44044s, 6" front shackle, rear 63s with dual shackles (stock chevy/6" shackle) running 35x12.50 tires.

My rear end still sits a little low so I am probably going to do about a 2" drop spring hanger in the back. I dont want to run blocks. If i was to do it over I would run 2" lifted 63s but I got a smokin' deal on a really nice set of stock 63s so I am sticking with those.

By crawlers do you mean  :turtle: springs? If so then yes, that would be an excellent combo. I would have run MC springs but my budget called for junkyard springs hence why I did the waggys and 63s. Marlin Crawler springs are worth the money though, never heard any complaints about them. They hold their ride height yet flex like crazy.

i did the combo of toyota rears + waggys and it was awsome i loved the spring rate very stable on road and flexy off road and had a better approch angle than just the stock waggys.

yeah marlins on front and chevys on back sound good?

Yup

If you dont have your chevies already it might be a good idea to get a set of 2" lifted 63 springs. It really depends on what size marlins you get though. Are you getting 4", 5", or 6" springs? I dont know how the marlins springs sit because I dont have them myself. Hopefuly someone with marlins/63s can comment on this because I am not 100% sure how they sit compared to each other. It seems reasonable to me that 4" marlins with 63s and a 6" shackle would sit prety even.

Anyone here run Marlins up front and 63s out back?

Well if you arent sure about where to mount the rear spring hanger for the 63s check out this page. Gives you a lot of good info for doing the rear swap.

I pulled the overload leafs from my very used Chevy packs. I just couldn't see how they would benefit me , because I don't haul any loads with my toy. Even with the overloads gone and my taller than stock pershes I don't have any noticable spring wrap.

I am very happy with it. I think you will be stoked with it the first time you try it on the trail. It rides great on the street too. The only problem I have is at full stuff my tires chew up my fenders. Though a sawzall is going to fix that here pretty soon.
