lol :funny: even if your talking about slip yoke id do more. when i build my crawler. im going to build it with 5" of slip showing and 7" left in  that way if a manage to twist up leafs and scoot the axle forward or break the front bracket off i'll keep from damaging my yoke to much or slipping apart. but its also going to be nice because i'll have a drive line shop to build them at by thetime i need to build them

yeah, but with a stock slip and chevies in the rear inch and a half of compression is all I need on mine. BUT I'm putting a long slip set up like that soon.... mine settled more after removing a leaf, I should have made more measurements on the rear, I forgot about the weight of the bed and a full tank plus i didnt want to set my axle any further back.... but i had to use my stock rear driveline with duals since thats what i had and couldnt afford driveline work..... thats why I snapped my rear u joint at the dunes when i got her hoppin...... bound up......  pretty poopy

but any way dont wanna hyjack this thread!!!! :beerchug:

So i inboarded the rear axles. 5.5 inches shock shaft exposed. Thanks for all the input. Anything else anyone see i need todo to the frame? As far as i can tell its DONE! on to powder cleaning, painting, assembling etc... oh what fun. Overall it looks a little short, but i do have 6" of lift.

It flexes good. I just flexed the driver side and with no problems got 8" of upward travel on the driver side, without even coming close to tapping the shocks out. It flexed more then i thought it would! It was smooth and seems to cycle nicly with no binding.

If i flipped the mount i would prolly be at 7" out and 5" in the shock on my 12" shocks. i Guess i could put some 14"ers on it. but i think that would be overkill.

really depends on where max droop is id say full droop leave 3/4" shaft left in and use the rest of it for upward flex is what i would do

I dunno yet. Any ideas? It will lime green when it's done, so prolly just go with that. I dunno.

So i cut what i did out. the more i flex it through i wasn't using much of the shock. Also i hated the single tab shock mounts that came with the Sky Kit, so i ordered some from marlin, that way i can weld them on all 4 sides. I am in the process of redoing it...  Will post when its done
