Re: Fuel issue
« on: Feb 20, 2011, 09:37:03 PM »
I was searching other forums (Google) to see if anyone was having similar issues, when I stumbled on this...

"The truck is an 85, and its efi. It will crank and idle just fine, but in neutral with no load it will get up rpm as long as you don't go more than about 25% throttle, it will fall on its face and die like its starving for fuel if anymore throttle is applied. I changed the fuel pump, strainer, and filter. I checked the maf, tps, cap, rotor button, vac leaks, and fuel leaks, all was good. I checked the plugs and got some super weird readings, #1 was super lean (maybe injector failure) #2 was fouled and blackish, dark brown, and #3 and #4 were normal looking. I'm wondering if this issue could be the fuel pressure regulator, or maybe some clogged/ bad injectors. I also checked the coil, it seemed to spark pretty well, idk if the coil was create this kind of issue though. I'm out of ideas other than injectors or fuel pressure regulator"

At the end of the forum he said by replacing the coil ignitor it fixed his fuel issue also? My truck will start and has no problems with spark, but his fuel issue sounds the same...

And for future reference 4runner FSM 22re
