Once everything was tightened down I confirmed a problem with the tie rod actually sitting on top of the leaf spring pack. This looks to be because of the thickness of the angled shims between the leaf springs and the spring perch(circled in yellow). Although they help with pinion angle, they cause the spring packs to sit high enough that the tie rod dosent clear... Has anyone else had this problem? In the morning I'm going to jack it back up , loosen the u-bolts and try to take the angled shims out as painlessly as possible, that should clearance the tie rod a little under a half inch above the leaf springs...
