After drilling out the crush pins or whatever they are technically called, I was able to lengthen the steering shaft since the IFS box is mounted farther forward.

After drilling these plastic pin out, I figured it would be easy to lengthen...   :hammerhead:  It turned out to be almost as hard as drilling the frame, which according to Glen is harder than woopecker lips.
After about half an hour of pounding wit a 3lb hammer and trying to hold the top I managed to slide it apart about 2 inches.  I ended up sliding a short piece of tubing over the shaft to pound on while I held the top with a big crescent wrench...  At that point it was looking pretty rough but I got her cleaned up.  Here are a few pics.
