After drilling out the crush pins or whatever they are technically called, I was able to lengthen the steering shaft since the IFS box is mounted farther forward.
After drilling these plastic pin out, I figured it would be easy to lengthen...
It turned out to be almost as hard as drilling the frame,
which according to Glen is harder than woopecker lips.
After about half an hour of pounding wit a 3lb hammer and trying to hold the top I managed to slide it apart about 2 inches. I ended up sliding a short piece of tubing over the shaft to pound on while I held the top with a big crescent wrench... At that point it was looking pretty rough but I got her cleaned up.
