He has safely made it ashore, but not without some drama. Half of his crated parts arrived today with the other half expected tomorrow. Then he will really get into it. Test fit the rear bumper and it turns out that it fit pretty nicely. I'm looking forward to seeing what he comes up with for a front bumper design.

Updates?

I think it is asses and elbows over there. Don't think they are really taking time for the build thread. Pretty understandable.

Oh come on Steve, one pic?  I'd rather see elbows than asses in this case...

The update that I got from Jason this morning was this:

1. The rest of the parts have showed up with the exception of his T-Case.
2. They are making very good progress.
3. Steve will be borrowing Nate's 35s for the trip.
4. Still need to mount the steering box, the sliders, and the transfer case once it shows up.
5. Need to fab up and mount front bumper still.

If that is all that is left then they are going to have no problem hitting the deadline. However with 35s he should really be going to 4.88 thirds. We will see. I found him some used ones in good condition locally, but I don't know what the $$$ situation is over there. I know he had to register and insure the truck which we all know isn't free nor cheap. I plan on heading over there first thing Saturday morning to help finish up if they don't have it done by then. Then hopefully we can all go to Reiter on Sunday and give it a proper shakedown run.

4.10 thirds will definitely slow him down on the street, but if he's going duals or 4.70 gears he'll be fine off the pavement.  I doubt it'll create any issues.  My breaking point was 33's with 4.10 gears on my 85, I had to slip the clutch way more than I liked, but since this will be mostly a highway trip when not off road it should be ok.

I think I'm a GO for wheeling on Sunday.  I think I'll be spending the weekend in Kirkland which will significantly shorten the morning trip.

Any need for a spare birfield (with a long side axle) for the trip?  I have one in a pvc pipe carry case that I can drop off on Sunday. You'll be about 15 minutes from my house.  It has been in my shed since I did Longfields in years past.  Just let me know.

Wheeled in at Loon, had only three pulls.
Wheeled out up Cadillac and ripped trans case crossmember apart literally and tore a sidewall, swapped to the spare and put a rachet strap between the sliders to hold the case up and drove it the seven hundred miles home.
All fixed up now and back on the road.

The final spec/build before mcr was.
33's, open open, 4.7 case front and rear bumper, sliders, new rad, new starter, make throttle pedal, extend starter cable, fit new seats, hy steer, front calipers and pads, extended brake lines, spring kit in rear brakes
