Had an awesome time wheeling over the weekend. It was the first time I've ever got to wheel on rocks and I don't think I can wheel anything else after that! Didn't break anything was the other bonus just a little body damage! I think the rock sliders were the best thing I've done to the truck. I didn't get many pictures of my me and my rig but I got a couple of some of my friends. I have a couple videos if I can figure out how to make them work. They don't do either of the hills justice especially the one shot from above. It makes it look like I'm on flat ground.

Thanks! I try to get out as much as I can! Its definitely the most capable rig I've built. That 127" wheel base is a blessing at times and a pain at others! I would like to shorten in to around 120"-117" but at the same time I like Having the full length bed!

Yeah plus my frame is 23" from the ground and my t case skid is way low so it gets hung up and snagged on everything!

For anyone that can help me, my power steering pump keeps bypassing and not allowing me to turn. It happens weather I'm locked or not up front and it does have fluid. The pump wines a lot to just driving. Its a factory 22re pump

does anyone know if 79-85 frame plates will fit on a 2wd frame? I know the FSA pickups had more arch in the frames like the 2wd but are they the same?

Here is my frame fix for the weekend. Did a little CAD work (cardboard aided design), cut them out with a cut off wheel, and welded them on!

finally got around to redoing the shock hoop. I cut the piece that mounts to the frame off and re notched the tube so the hoop would be straight up and down then trimmed the inner fender as much as i could to make them fit. Here is how it turned out. Im pretty happy with it and it should hold up a little better. Im going to add a few more supports after I do the 3rz swap. I don't want to deal with them in the way when I'm doing the motor mounts.

Thanks! Now I need to do the other side and re do the rear shock mounts  :shake: The rz needs to happen sooner than later. More than anything I haven't had the time to do it. I drive the truck to school every day so its hard to yank the motor and do the swap. The re isn't to tired but it is getting there. I have everything for it except the oil pan right now. I wish I could just pay someone to do it but it would kill me inside to pay someone to do something i could do  :smack:

Thanks! And yeah I need to do the other one now... or just wait till it rips off.. Im more concerned about getting rear shocks back on it more than anything. I have the axle chatter that it gets without them.

I rode for over a year after the sas with only rear shocks because I was too cheap to purchase some for the front. What a difference a decent shock absorber makes on the highway.

When I first finished it I didn't run front shocks until my buddy said he would  sell me those hoops for cheap because he bought them for a rig that he ended up rolling! I know all about not running shocks I ran just a passenger side front for the last week or so and couldn't take it anymore and finally did this. I need to redo my rear shocks now.

Got my rear shock mount done... finally. I made it out or 2"x2" .120 wall. Pretty simple easy design.

Perfect design , actually seem to gain more shock clearance when you notch out the tubing and put the shocks inside the tube! If i ever break mine ill copy this setup

That was my hope to keep as much up travel as I could without cutting into my bed because i use the bed a lot.

Thanks! My next little project is doing a rear disk break swap with the front solid rotors and putting vented rotors up front with ifs calipers.

Managed to break off the passenger side shock hoop so I did the same thing I did to the driver side. Also managed to dent my tailgate sliding down a hill into a tree. I just keep gathering rz parts. I now have the bell housing, slave cylinder, flywheel, oil pain with all the goodies, new timing chain, and a balance shaft removal kit from LCE.

Did you get a screaming deal on the chain or something? Just wondering why if you have the engine out and are going into it far enough to do the chain and cb delete why not rebuild it.

I got the chain because I had a buddy with a rz and the chain guides came apart and the engine had around 200k on it and same with the re thats in my pickup. I just figured id change it while the motor was out and figured id cb delete while I was at it. the motor ran great but while i have it apart I'm going to check everything.
