I have finally got some updates. The rear axle is now done and under my pile. Here is the rear
88 Toyota truck ( Under Construction ) Dana 60's front and rear 5.38's, welded diffs, 3inch Downey rears up front, one link rear with aerostar coils rolling on 39.5x16.50/17 Pittbull Rockers and 17x9 Pro Comp extreme alloys.http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=40816.0

And now how my 4runner sits with the rear under it. I still need to narrow the front and put a little body lift under it to clear the tires better but here are the pics

:headscratch:  The front seems wider than the rear.  Did i miss somthing.

Looks like you are going to have some serious rubbage in the rear.  Can that axle be moved back any more?

Not trying pick you truck apart by any means, just asking :gap:

This build brought to you by....  "spare rims!!"

Your runner is looking awesome.  What size are the Pitt Bull Rockers?

He still needs to narrow up the front, just finished the rear.
Looking for 35s in SLO later summer time, like august.  Swapping Tires??

whiteman

I missed the narrowing part.  Thanks

I am going to move the rear back about an inch and a half and put a 2 inch body lift under it to clear things a little better. Kinda tight right now :gap: Also when I get back to the front it will be abot 9 inches narrower than now. Should match the rear pretty close.

Thanks for the kind words. The rockers are 39.5x16.50/17  I can't wait to get these things on the trail to see how well they work.  Did you like the axle stands

I think I am going to go a different rout with this thing now :flamer: Since I have gotten the new job I have a little extra money to throw around now. I think I am going to buy a tow rig and chop this thing up a little more since it will more than likely never see the road again. For now I think I will start with less sheet metal and run a buggy leaf for the rear suspension and start saving for air shocks to link it front and rear :yesnod: I also need to cage this thing. I plan to buy a harbor freight bender and some good old poop pipe to bend me one up soon. For the engine, trans and cases I plan to throw in a 350 on propane and a th350 trans with a 203-205 doubler, of course this will be later down the road. what do yall think?

I just picked me up a new tow rig. It's a 2001 Ford F250 super duty 4x4. It has the 7.3 powerstroke turbo diesel and 6 speed tranny.I got home too late tonight to take good pics but I will have some up tomarrow for sure. I guess it's chopity chop time for the runner :flamer: I plan to put a K&N filter on it as well as find a good chip and exaust soon. I'll keep ya'll posted on the mods

I like the chop. It leaks a little, not as bad as my leaky sun roof.

Nice build up so far. Is the soft top going to be permanent, or are you going to weld in something eventually?

Actually I have been thinking of ditching the soft top all together since it's now a trailer queen. I'm also going to pull the doors off too  :gap:

I finally got to work on the pile a little today :driving: I got the rear axle centered under it now and I also cut my front fenders out straight like a flat fender. I still need to machine my front hubs, hopefully I can get that done sometime this week :crossed: Then it's all down hill from there. lots of little lose ends to tie up and then it's time to GET IT. I should have pics up tomarrow

Allright, I finally have a few update pics. The rear is now centered in the wheel wells and I chopped my front fenders. I have decided not to narrow the front, instead I am going to put wheel spacers on the rear. I just need to get them ordered sometime. well on with the pics

I got to work on the turd pile today for a little while before it started raining. :tantrum: wouldn't you know I get a Saturday off and it rains. The front brakes are done though, I'll start on the rear lines tomarrow and get my rear shaft hooked up. I still need to build the front shaft and make my adapter plate for the 3/4 ton master cylinder and it will be driveable again  exept for the rear wheel spacers, Oh and I still need to mount my rear shocks.

Well, the pile should be moving under it's own power by sunday :crossed: All thats left is mounting the master cylinder, installing the steering arm and drag link, front D shaft and bleeding the brakes. :driving:

looking good, I've decided to ditch the fenders completely and chop the hood to the inside of the headlights. Mount some Hella's in the grill...

Rubbage what a pain.

I've thought about doing that too. When I get the money saved to link it  I probably will along with building a partial exo while i'm at it.

While it wasn't raining today I got the 3/4 ton master cylinder mounted and the brakes plumbed up. Now I just need to get the steering done, spacers for the rear axle, finish the front drive shaft and the rear brakes. I need to get two banjo fittings for the rear calipers and they will be done.it's getting closer, I already have a camping trip to disney in the works. If anybody is interested in joining in shoot me a PM.
