Yeah I know what you mean about a tube kinker.  I wanted to build a tube bumper and It SUCKED.  Works really good for that poop pipe but nother else so far as I can tell.  I'm going to try and sell mine for really cheap and buy a REAL bender.  get some pictures up for us to look at.

KWP

Well here are some pics of the cage that the pipe kinker built :gap: I still have alot of bracing to do along with build the front stinger , windsheild bar and tubing out the fron clip. Well here goes tell me what yall think its my first cage.

It has been a while. I work alot of overtime with my new job whitch leaves me with very little time if any during the week to work on this thing. I would like to have it at least on the trail by August. :dunno:

what do you think about those pittbulls.  I've wheeled with a guy here that has them on his fullsize and they seem to work ok in the snow but I haven't seen them in the rocks yet.  Do you know anything about how they work there?

nice progress, those bends turned out NICE considering what you were using... we tried to bend some shock hoops this weekend with a tube kinker.. and decided to toss that thing in the garbage.

Thanks man. I was just about to toss this pos and figured I would try it again and do things a little differently this round. It didn't turn out a good as I would have liked but close enouph. I can always start over later with a better bender. This should work for now  :crossed:

Holy macrel, that thing is loosing sheet metal like crazy.  Look like the farther you get the more tube frame you think.  Looking good though, it will be nice to see it in action.

motorider228

I didnt like it as much after you chopped it up and stuck those huge axles on it but it looks awesome now with the cage, that will be an awesome buggy.

Yep, I bent everything with a pos HF style bender. It actually turned out way better than I expected.

I plan to tube the front also, hopefully I can get started on that this weekend. Then all I'll need to do is the gusseting and finish welding and I think it's done for a while.

Trust me, when I get this phase of the build done I am going to beat the hell out of this thing. :_order: It's been down for way too long. Later this winter I plan to link the rear possibly the front and do some engine tranny and tcase mods.

what kind of tube did you use agian.  I tried many different ways to bend tube with a HF bender and I just wouldn't bend crap.  I can bed black pipe all day long and even built a cage for my demo derby car but the other tube I bought just was like crap to bend.

yotadork83

hey was wondering if you would be willing too sell your head lights before they get demoalished. my girlfriends 4runner has a huge hole in the glass.

I used 1 7/8 HREW. The first time I tried to bend with it I ended up ruining a full 26 foot stick of tube , after doing some reserch, I found that filling it full of sand and bending with the seam facing down into the die it actually did ok.

They probably would'nt be worth buying. The driver's side light has a big chip in the center of it. I am going to be selling all of my doors though. They are pretty much in perfect condition.

which die did you end up using for th 1 7/8 HREW?  I was using like a 1 1/4 die for 1 1/5 HREW and I wished that it fit better.

I'm using the 1 1/2 pipe die. It fits the 1 7/8 tube perfectly. :gap:
