Thanks bud, I Loved it, The one thing that gets me though is the seats in my 90' SR5 now are fully adjustable lumbar/side bolster just holds you in like a lot of the older seats, were all the Tacoma's even up to the last 14' I was in have pretty much a flat seat no adjustment. Not that that would sway your decision. Sounds like the damn power steering is really getting to you right now, but hell you got this far with it you'll figure it out

That was supposed to say "beast" not beat, I edited it. Nah the power steering isn't driving it at all. I really like my Corbeau Moab seats.

Negative. He very nearly lost his truck coming back and he is on 40" tires with a snorkel. The lake was more full than we have ever seen it. The camp site that is on the other side of the lake that we were crossing it for was completely under water. We turned back and went to the first site that I wheeled through a couple minutes prior in the video.

#hurtfeelings  :rivers: Nah I figured. A nice road trip and vacation for some glass besides doesn't sound half bad though. They look great on the runners

I think it may be worth the trip just to check out his absolutely rediculosly crazy Twin turbo set-up he's got going on right now.

I realized today that the 2 year anniversary of the foundation of the Wet Wheelers came and went recently. Spent tonight putting together a highlight reel of the last 2 years. Can't say thank you to all my friends enough. You guys are the best and wheeling with you guys is one of the things that brings me joy most in my life. Can't wait for the next 2  :driving:  :beerchug:

What are the odds someone will back out and you could get up there and fill the spot?

We think alike. I asked him the same. The plan is for me to take my truck up there this fall/winter and leave it in his shop and he's going to do it during any dead time that arises. I'll just have to get an A to B er which I should probably get anyways.

Nice work as always Andrew.
Can't wait to see mark in one of the future videos.

Wait, what did I miss?????
Time to go wheelin!

Yes, short of the perfect SAS Tacoma or 3rd gen 4Runner coming up between now and then my current plan is to keep my truck and take it up to slacker (Toyota fiberglass) in the fall and winter and have them replace my front and rear fenders with their high clearance glass fenders. I will have them put on their door skins and rear tail gate skin at the same time. I will then have my truck painted or paint it myself with monstaliner (not sure on this yet) and then immediately have it exo caged before wheeling it.

mudmaster

I like this plan better, but how well does the fiberglass hold up?

Pretty well, they have some videos on their site of them abusing their panels. It won't matter though as like I said I'm going to get an exo done.

I'm happy to hear that you're passing on the Taco that you were looking at.  If I was looking at the right one on Pirate4x4 even thought it looked to be a nice truck, it didn't look like it was built the way you would choose.  I was curious to see how you liked having a Detroit rear axle!

I think you'll be very glad that you kept your 4Runner.  Any idea how much weight to expect from the planned exo?  I'm thinking in terms of CG, suspension capacity, and street performance.  I don't know how extensive of an exo you have in mind, but like all things there's a fine line between having enough to provide adequate protection while still minimizing the weight to minimize the performance loss.

Have you seen this thread/4Runner?

http://www.yotatech.com/f88/2nd-gen-4runner-exo-cage-57254/index4.html

He put a lot of resources into the exo and the end result is still having a truck that looks like someone stepped on it.  The 1st Gen 4Runner has an advantage due to only have one set of doors and I guess you can run tube doors.  You might consider having some bolt on bars in place of the tube doors that you could climb over Dukes of Hazard style that could maintain the lines of the exo.  You could take them off when running real doors.

I don't like exos. That being said, it also isn't my rig.

huge thumbs up on the EXO. I will have one day also. Need more engine power first.
You best get that super charger. No idea how much additional weight that will add.

I was going to say this

exo weight can add up quick and cause a fair loss in power with the weight and reduced aerodynamics.

It'll be alright. I'm losing quite a bit of weight by replacing a lot of steel with glass. Besides if it is too much of a pig I'll just have to go with a little forced induction.

I wouldn't expect a significant weight reduction replacing Toyota sheet metal with anything. The weight of my bobbed section of bed on my 85 was surprisingly small. I'll be curious for a before and after weight.

I need to put mine on the scales...
