Truck is having a problem starting and running.
« on: Nov 26, 2014, 03:00:06 PM »
Background...... So a few weeks back i was wheeling and the truck go hot. turns out i had a cooling problem.got to hot and blew the headgasket. (it blew at the coolant port). It was driving fine other than the cooling problem. none the less i broke it down cleaned sent it off etc etc. got everything buttoned back up, the whole coolant system is new, radiator thermostat and water pump and now i wont run. Ive got it to start. but at soon as you hit the accelerator it bogs down.

Here is what ive been through already:
Pugs and wires are new.
Fuel filter is new.
I know that the timing is right at the distributor. and i have blue spark at all plugs, and wires are in the right order.
Checked if the fuel pump was working. ( shooting out fuel at the Cold start injector.) Hit it with 12 volts and it misted so i know the cold start is good.
Broke down the intake and cleaned it. (firstly removing the TPS sensor.)
Checked the fuel flow at the rail and its good. which is redundant i know but i did it anyway.
i pulled the injectors checked all the O rings they were all good and when i had the fuel pump on i had no leakage.
all the wires are securely on.

Now here is my dilemma. is there a was to check if the injectors are working properly? without sending them off?
Does anyone have any ideas on what else to check? I'm at the brink of frustration.  :maddest:

I put in back exactly the way it was when it was running. How do i go about adjusting it? I assumed that it would be properly adjusted as it was when it was running.

X2 about the tps

the tps fins have to lined up perfect on the throttle body.

check to see if the idle air control valve is working properly. i remember once when my rig was very low on coolant the valve got stuck in a closed or open position and the truck wouldnt stay running. this has coolant lines running to it so it could be stuck when the engine ran hot and blew the HG.

is the AFM plugged in?  is the flap inside it stuck?

theres the possibility of a huge air pocket in the cooling system which will cause it not to run right .
