Starting problem
« on: Jun 01, 2005, 02:59:19 PM »
I have an 85 4 runner with the 22re motor. I can start the engine fine but when it warms up you can cut it off and the thing will not start until the motor cools down. A friend of mine had me run a jumper wire for the fuel pump to leave it on all the the time. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, David

Your starter may also be over heating. I've had that problem and it's a simple fix with a heat shield.
In Progress: 3RZ-FE Swap Underway.

Currently: 87' 4Runner - SAS - 5.29's - welded rear - Dual 2.28 cases - Optima bluetop - round headlight conversion - FZJ80 grill - rattlecan paint job - trimmed fenders - Ranger hybrid springs front - Tacoma hybrid springs rear - schedule 160 drivelines 8" slip front - Marlin's crossmember - disk brake conversion
