Okay, finally started on my 3RZ swap today. Pulled the Old 22R with an Offy Dual plane intake manifold, LCE Pro spiral carb spacer, and a weber 32/36 along with my trans/tcase. Tomorrow I am going to sand and get the engine bay ready for a fresh coat of some good spray paint/Rust prevention.

Made some pretty good time on pulling the drive train. :shades:

Started by disconnecting the battery. Removed the Radiator, starter, disconnected the alternator and all of the other wires from the chassis to the motor. Then I removed the bellhousing bolts to find that one of my engine to bellousing mounts was broken. No good. I found out a neat trick to getting the top bellhousing bolts out Do it from inside of the cab as seen in the pics.

Sure. $350 for everything from the LCE re-usable poly intake manifold gasket to the carb.

Cleaned up the engine bay. I wire wheeled and sanded, properly cleaned and then applied a few coats of the rusto-leum rust prevention/stopper spray paint and then coated that with glossy black engine enamel hi-temp paint ( about 3 coats) . I was thinking about taking everything apart and making it super clean, but I don't really have the time. oh well :usa: Received the chilkat motor mounts today, so I will be installing tomorrow and most likely get the drive train installed. Well see. I also dropped the cab 1". pics to come.

Did you prep your fuel lines and clutch lines before putting motor in or are you going to do that after?

Haha. I havent thought that far ahead yet. Whatever is required by the B.A.R. to get it legally passed smog. I am going to keep it as cheap as possivoe for now. I will be using the stock manifold and cat for the 3rz for now.

I bent and got the clutch line out and off of the firewall before insralling the motor. That would have been a PITA aftee gettin the motor in there. Good call. Thanks.

Now would be an easier time to move your fuel line over your tranny and stretch it to the drivers side unless you are going to run a new line.

Very true. . I moved yhe clutch line already, i have the motor teetering in the engine bay. I forgot i dont have a pitman arm puller or whatever its called. :hammer:...i will bend my fuel lines now before puttin the trans in.

Ok, Here are some pics of what I have done and plan to do in regards to my clutch line. I am going to bend it into a somewhat compact form and then remove the rubber line from the hard line to sort of shorten the over all length. Well see if the 3RZ slave threads into the 22R threads. An official answer will come soon.

Here are the Chilkat mounts installed and painted some weird color I had laying around.

And this is where I am at. Turns out the oil pan will not clear the drag link or whatever that rod is called, im sure I could have guessed that....that's what I get for rushing. Its ok. :chillpill:

I am now going to drain the oil from the motor and completely remove the oil pan for clearance. STILL MAKING PROGRESS! :flamer:
