Monk#1164 in the hospital
« on: Aug 20, 2013, 03:40:07 PM »
Info from another board.

Wow, Mike gave all a scare Monday morning.  He phoned Ally that something was really wrong, sweating profusely and low pulse.  Ally immediately phoned 911 and Mike was taken to St. Agnes.  He did not have a heart attack but had an artery to the heart 100% blocked.  A stint was inserted.  He of course is being monitored by many wires hooked to him.

He seemed to be in real good spirits today and ready to go home.  He was sitting up and Hungry waiting for his 2nd breakfast!

We all wish you well Mike and hope you can come home soon.  Take care Buddy.

Good to hear he's doing ok and dodged a bullet!  Definitely coulda been way worse.

:yikes:  Glad he got in to the Dr. in time.

This is why I've been seeing the Dr. and getting check ups.  I want to be around a long time.

Thanks Ed, turns out afterseveral test I have had a few small attacks with little damage but while there had a larger one with still little damage but enough pills to choke a horse and lots of rest for a littlw while and should be good to go soon. they may opt to do the other stent but it requires splitting my chest so opted for a medicated approach for now. But nice to be sleeping in my own house. thanks again and its time to go wheeling soon

Bypasses open the chest, stents are placed usually though the groin or the arm.
