Just a FYI for those of you Toyota guys that have been/go to TTORA, Shannon AKA Tacozilla has been hospitalized and is in MICU. From the TTORA Board:

yeah it does, I spoke to him on tuesday and he seemed fine.  I was going to buy a buggy from him tomorrow and we had made plans to meet in the morning, then BAM.  As more info comes in I will keep this thread updated.  I will verify any info before I post it b/c I don't want to spread false rumors.

man I really feel for him and in a way know what he's going through.

my grandfather got diagnosed with BAD kidney's not to long ago and starts dialysis soon.

Just go off the phone with his uncle and he is still in critical condition. They are currently doing dialisys on him to clean his kidneys. No visits allowed yet.

small update from the TTORA  forum

He is far from being able to have visitors.... He really needs our prayers. I went to see how he was this afternoon, and visited with his family for a while. As of this afternoon they are still trying to get the infection handled with antibiotics, and filtering the toxins from his blood (acute dailysis). His vitals were stabalized, but he is still under the effects of anasthesia. He is a little banged up from the accidentb but he is far from being out of the woods. Keep the prayers and goods vibes going his way.
I let his mom, dad, and other family know that he has alot of people across the nation praying for him, and they appreciate it all.

If I hear anything else I will keep the updates coming.

I am Shannon's sister, Shayna.  I know all of you are concerned about Shannon, and I know how much this site and all of you mean to him, so I thought I would give all of you a quick update.  As of today, he is still in critical condition in the ICU.  They did dialysis again this morning.  They belive the infection started in the kidneys.  They did take him off the sedation yesterday morning, but he has not woke up yet.  He did respond when me and my mom were talking to him.  He opened his eyes half way for a short period of time.  They say it may just take a little while for the sedation to completely wear off.  They were concerned that he may have some fluid on his brain, but they did a cat scan this morning, and there is no fluid or bleeding in his brain.  They have a liver specialist coming today, as his liver was affected.  I will try to post more later.  I have talked to some of you, and I know all of you are praying for him, and we appreciate all of your prayers!

as a  "professional patient" myself   i know as far as a severe kidney infection goes  he's better off being asleep cause  kidney infections  HURT,  the liver  is affected cause  the livers job is to remove toxins from the blood.

I went to the hospital last night to see shannon. He is still in a coma, but the Doctors said his liver function test are improving. "Baby Steps in the right direction" I tried to wake him and get any type of response from him. He stirred a little but not much couldnt tell if it was my doing or if he was just fidgeting. I hope it was cause of me. I talked to his dad and he doesnt have insurance. If any one is good at fund raisers or has any ideas it wouldnt be a bad idea to start one. He need's our help, and our prayers.

He left work the other day ( july 9th ) feeling ill, and got into an accident.

He's not in the Hospital because of the accident though.

He had a severe kidney infection and a very high fever, which caused him to hallucinate, causing him to wreck.

His family has told us (TTORA members) that his kidneys are failing and he is now on dialysis, for the last 2 weeks he has been in a coma in ICU, but today he opened his eyes and started breathing on his own.

Shannon is the man that organizes all the TTORA Takeovers, (remember the huge event in 2006 at Hotsprings AR, or last year in Farmington NM) ??

Several years ago, Shannon was an electrician and fell from 40 feet up a power pole and landed on his feet, causing serious damage to his back so a good day for him is full of pain.

But now he is fighting for his life and needs our help.

We found out from his Dad, that Shannon doesnt have any medical insurance, and hospital bills are going to be HUGE,

so PLEASE if you can skip eating out just one night and send what you can to Shannon.

You will have helped a man that has helped thousands of offroad enthusiasts

Hey everybody, I'm broadcasting live to you straight from my hospital bed!

I just wanted to logon and tell y'all how much I appreciate what y'all are doing. Words really can't describe how I feel. Just seeing that my 4x4 brothers would help me up when I've been kicked pretty hard to the ground is truely an awesome thing!

Just an update, my kidneys are still not functioning properly. The doctors say that it can sometimes take up to 6 weeks for them to start functioning like they should. Right now I'm just playing the waiting game and hoping they start working.

That's about all the typing I can muster right now....pretty tired. I'll start logging in more often though!
