you have both trucks-check the part numbers on the computers. can't remember if the numbers are the same or not-have em both in the shop parts bin. i wouldn't be afraid to switch one for the other even if they are different numbers-can't hurt anything that i know of. might throw a code-then you'll know. there's a good list of toy computer year/part numbers floating around if you look.

Shouldn't be a problem.  I install a 5 speed trannny in my EFI 85 4 runner and just jumped the neutral/park wires and didn't touch anything else.

thanks for the reply guys ! , but I'm just going to stick to the good ol carb. I'm not interested in tearing my dash all to sh-t and totally rewiring my truck just to get efi ! If I'm not satisfied with the carb. their's always propane ! I like simple , so I'm taking all the emissions crap off and just running what I have to have to make it run on the carb. Man it's really a shame I had all the stuff I needed but oh well guess I'll sell it !   oh by the way I came to this conclusion after taking the motor and all the wiring out of the efi truck ! the motor was no sweet it was all the wiring behind the dash that scared me to death !

switching the harness is not a biggie-just fussy work. just changed one on a extra cab-those things can only go together one way. turned the key and it started right up, no codes, and everything works.
