also not really supposed to back up with a tow dolly except in like a straight line, i understand the gotta do what you gotta do scenarios just fyi. It has something to do with the body of the vehicle in tow and the rear wheels binding up in reverse sends it over the tongue like you found out.

As much as I want a 4runner, I may be trading my buddy for his lifted stock 85 EFI reg cab truck & $1000 in my pocket. He wants this thing bad.

Honestly... do it. That way you have somthing that was suposed to be EFI. Toss some crossover on it down the line if it hasnt been done already and just tweak on it a bit to get it where ya want it. Will probably be a better start tbh.

No doubt. Ill let you guys know what happens. I hope he says yes in the morning. He offered the trade tonight, I told him id seriously consider it. Took me 20min to make my mind up. So I sent him a few texts. He lives like 4 houses away from me. So I see the truck everyday

its visually kind of crappy. has rust. but the truck is solid. its gone thru the dealership and been deemed a good truck. Ill try and get some pics tonight when he stops by in a few hours. its an off white regular cab long bed. has brown interior with the SICK SR5 busket seats. genernic 3in lift on like 31s, stock bumpers, a loud exhaust and of course factory EFI, has 215,000? miles on it and could prob use a timing chain kit. but with Cash coming along with the trade of my 4runner. ill be able to buy a used set of 35x12.5R17 Toyo MTs on AMP 46&2 17x8s, and do a timing kit on it. be in a better vehicle and now. freeing up cash tax time for better things and ill be wheeling sooner and hunting!!

could always do drivetrain mods to the truck and keep your eye out for a cheap runner body like one thats being parted out or something and swap the body on that frame..  i think it will fit?

Did a look over of the truck last night. It is an SR5, has A/C, CD player, 213125 miles, 3in superlift, 3in body lift. Needs timing civer gaskets, timing set, oil pan gasket, calipers stick, new pads, exhaust leak and tires. getting those 35s for $325, that leaves $675 for other engine stuff and/winch. Oh and the bed sucks. Lol

So the last few days, ive been working on this.




My dad traded it for his 95 4runner while in CA couple months ago. Well he went back down there sunday and left me the keys. he gave the money to do a timing kit in Cusick, WA and drove it 1hr home today. In a couple weeks itll get inner & outer TRE's, center drag link, pitman arm, steering stabilizer, and ujoints in the rear. In return for doing the work for him, ill have it to drive as a second rig for a month or so while he's gone.

I think you would be better off with the runner
you did a quick check on the truck, but once youd own it a big list would come up.

I agree you should keep the 4runner... If you start with a pickup you will eventually have to switch to a 4runner anyway it's just the way it works...

Besided I have these badges I keep promising you and they won't go on a pickup.
