Do you find it difficult..
« on: May 09, 2012, 09:40:22 PM »
to delete old phone numbers or email address's of family/friends who have passed on?    :inthedark:

I just went through my cell phone and really looked at all the numbers I have in the phone book.  And there are several numbers, that I just can't seem to get rid of.  I have a couple of emails that are the same.  Anybody else have this same issue?

It's almost comforting to just see them in your list while your looking for a number.

I don't rush home and go "Woohoo, I can finally erase her number"...but, no, I have no trouble erasing old info. I might reflect for a moment, before I do.

Mike your a funny man!   :yesnod:

It's easy to delete a ex-gf's number.  But there are certain numbers in my phone, I just can't get myself to get rid of.   It's just comforting to just see them once in a while.

And 4Thewkn too!  I think of Kyota every time I look at my rig, because the tires and wheels I bought from him.

It wasn't immediately, but I did eventually delete my late brother's number from my phone (about 2 phones ago) and some others as well. I think I still have a friend's number (a friend since High School) who died almost 3 years ago now.

It is tough to just delete those numbers or messages when you reflect back on those number being the last known means of contacting them. As strange as it sounds though, I know I felt relieved after I did knowing it was a form of moving forward. We all move forward at our own pace and in our own good time.

Not at all cheesy.  I actually still have  2 voice mails from my grandpa from last summer.  He passed away in September.  Both messages are from July or so, before he started going downhill.

Its nice to hear his voice once in a while.

Ever try calling those numbers? There is a great Dane Cook stand up on your very predicament.

No, I have never called them.  I know that Dean's wife had his old number for a few years.  But not sure now.

A friend of mine, lost her mom a couple years ago, and they still have the number.  And once in a while she will call it, just to hear her mom's voice.

I still have a few numbers in my phone I can't bring myself to erase. It is kinda comforting just seeing their name from time to time and taking a minute to think about them and remember the good times.

Would it make your freak if one of those old numbers actually called you?

This has happened. What's worse is when I get an email from their email address, or a message on FB. I see my inbox and it says their full name as sender and it makes my heart skip a beat! Phone numbers get recycled. Email addresses don't!
