Small difference in the fronts. Shouldn't have to move too much just cut into the fenders.

Cleaning and inspecting longs tonight.

Also got the front end out. All this is for sale.

At full suspension cycle I still have an extra 4 inches of unused shock travel. So I am going to split the difference an move my upper mount 2 inches up.

Plated the frame where the shock mounts will sit. Yes I should have plated the whole side and angled the ends but I'm lazy.

Still learning, but thanks! Now that I got the shock mounts in I wish I had only trimmed the fender to outline the the shock hoop, but oh well. Also notched the bottom tubes of the shock mount to move it inboard and add strength. I am not going to finish weld it till I get the axle reassembled.

Well at ride height I have 6 inches of up travel. Which is way more than my springs have, so I am happy.

Thanks. Gotta hit up the steel yard for some smaller tube. So I can truss it.

Slolyfe

Hahaha neither had I. Seems like it will hold, it moved the fat ass shocks back from the tire, and most importantly, I got to reuse the old hoops. Still need to put the trusses in behind it.

Good thinking. I like it.

You had that front axle made to an IFS width? Are you trying to remove the wheel spacers?

Slolyfe

Yea its 3 inches wider than stock. so no more wheel spacers. They have never been a problem but figure thats another 1.5 inches of leverage against the knuckle.

jrock

I love that idea. I want to do it too so I can lower the scrub radius. Better turning, less stress on the knuckle, more protected brakes.... All better!

Slolyfe

Yea. I am kinda worried about the hub being more exposed but can always go the drive flanges route. Getting all TG parts 50% off now through my buddies sponsor. kinda hard not to.
You'll never take me alive

jrock

Maybe. I bet it isn't a problem. Those full width guys have their hubs hanging way out.

Got bump stops. Was going with air bumps but these were cheaper, maintenance free, and can take a beating. They are 'airless airbags' for pickup trucks.

We rode on my buddy's for the last half of Every Mans Challenge last year when his rear shocks overheated and gave out. They stayed soft and smooth through some knarly whoops.

How wide are they and where can they be bought?

I am curious to see how you mount them up.

peacesells: "Its kinda fun tryin to avoid body damage, just like playing operation with different sound effects"

Slolyfe

Prob 3 to 4 inches wide. I won't be home for a week. But I will ask my buddy what they are called. He ordered them for me through his sponsor. He found them at sema and they were a great alternative to air bumps. Because you can't run air bumps in the 4600 class.

I will probably mount them to the u bolt flip plate then build a plate down off the frame.

Slolyfe

In the second picture, that is a metal spacer that I used to compress them. So they squish down pretty good.
