My speedo will also jump around when im idling! Oh lil buddy just reminded me the check engine light ahs come on a couple times then it jsut goes off! would the speed sensor make it go in and out of gears??? that jsut confuses me on how it does that! but i will go get a new speed sensor and see if that helps! im kinda hoping its the transmission going out so i can do a 5 speed conversion

did you check your tranny fluid it could be low enouph that its not getting enouph line pressure to ingage the clutches compleatly or all the time that could be causing the feeling of it being in nutral, its probably not the porblem. and if the fluid got low enouph to do what your discribing then the trannys probably toast any way. just a thaught that poped into my head  :hammer:

ok so im jsut about to check the line pressure but what are dtc's?? that part confused me! well i talked to my parents today they didnt seem to happy about the whole thing! they DID NOT like the idea of a conversion because to much modifications and money would be involved! :dunno: so i will jsut ahve to wait until the car is mine then its all good!

my speedo did the same thing on cold mornings until it simply broke the needle off. But this was while in motion in a manual, the cable was at fault but i wish i could help witht he auto problem.

DTC-defined Diagnostic Trouble Codes, These are the codes that you retrieve with the scantool. Toyota can retrieve them for you or if  they have Autozone stores where you live they will do it for free. Just remember the are in the business of selling parts and just because it may have a speed sensor code it doesn't necessarily mean that the speed sensor is bad. All that I need are the code numbers (example - P0335). I do not need the definition of the code.
