More pictures

New marlin eco seals

New tie rod ends

Drove the truck to work everyday last week, steering feels tighter and more responsive. So far i'm liking the trunnion eliminators, assembly was much easier not having to play with any bearings to line up. We'll see how they hold up in the long run. Plan on going to browns camp this sunday to really test everything out.

Had my tires rotated and rebalanced yesterday, and just got a new alignment done today.
The MTR's seem to be wearing less than the KM2's i had on before.
Or maybe i just drive it a lot less now.

If my tires stuck out that much over here I would get drug out of my rig and beat with a night stick!  Looks good by the way.

You will love the Trunnion Bearing Eliminators. I put mine in a little over two years ago and have been awesome. I like them mainly for what you said, not having to deal with those damn bearings haha. Trucks looking good too man iv always liked your rig

Few pictures from camping last weekend at Browns camp.
Busted a bearing in my tranny, its making a lot of noise in first and second gear, still drives fine though. debating on marlin rebuild kit or just replacing it, cost is the same.
New steering upgrades feel great tho lol
Cheers

I did a smokey burn out on that very same bridge once, in like the mid 1990s with 32" baby swampers. I love TSF but now I don't know where anything is when I go there now.  The "mini-rubicon" used to be like 4 rocks sticking out of some red clay in some trees back then, now it's this concave rock wall at the edge of a clear cut.

We named the "happy meal trail" with a paper plate stapled to a tree when they lamed out the start of the fire break there, and now it has a permanent sign.  Thanks for posting pics, it brings back memories.  Your truck does look sweet by the way.

I vote for re-building the trans yourself.

I was in your shoes not long ago. I opted to get another trans because enot only as it cheap but it gave more parts for later since I kept the old one as well. I love how low this truck is and still on man tires. Looks killer!

Thanks! :beerchug:

I'm going to break apart my current trans and see the shape of things, if the gears look to be in good shape I might rebuilt. I've lined up a 40ton press already. But also found a "new" trans for $300, same price as the rebuild. So just need some free time to start this so I can see what I'm working with

I really need to get up and explore Brown's more.  And I freaking live here!!  :smack:

It would be different if I had a crawler instead of stock truck.  Tired of being broke all the time, kids are freaking expensive!!

Seeing your pictures, makes me want to go do my favorite route.  Kilchis main line, to Smith Wright (ODF renamed it, and I can't remember), FB 8, Triangulation, down into either Cook Creek or Salmonberry or Buck Mountain, or down the North Fork of the West Fork, and down into Diamond Mill or Keening, or Coast Range roads.  There are a couple easy trails along the way, but they are mainly old FB roads.  That can give IFS a hell of a workout, especially if you don't have a locker.
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

4THEWKN~9/17/2006  If it wasn't for you, I'd be driving something other than a Toyota!

Late Update:

I actually fixed my truck back in April or May. But what I found after taking it apart was I blew up 2nd gear. So I bought another W56 trans from a coworker for $300.
It was a forward shift W56, not a top shift W56. I converted it by swapping the tail housing and shift linkage from my busted one.
Everything went back together smoothly, hoping this new trans lasts :gap:

The busted 2nd gear:

Swapping tails:

Ready for reassembly:
Also installed a new throw-out bearing on the clutch fork because my marlin "super heavy duty" clutch seems to enjoy wearing them out.
