Dingman.

Do you already have the 3.4?

I dont know how much more work it is for that swap over a 3rz, but the 5vzfe is a cool motor!  :booya:

Yes, that is my motor that will be going in the truck. I plan on dropping it in around the end of summer :smokin:
I will be getting the head rebuilt and going over the whole motor before it goes in :beerchug:

No rubbing at all daily driving the past 2 weeks, and I just finished installing bump-stops on all four corners today so I should be good on the trail too.

I haven't mentioned this before, but I have been thinking about it for a while.... 3.4 motor swap
:muscles:

Did some maintenance this week, replaced my blown out passenger rear wheel bearing and axle seals....

The original bearing was completely toast!

Axle shaft all ready to reinstall with new seals...

But while i have the axle shaft out i might as well install this :smokin:

Comparison of my old diff(5.29 w/ Yukon Grizzly) and new diff (5.29 w/ ARB)

Everything installed and ready to go, except the ARB air line which I'll route today...

Why you swapping out the grizzlies

For a more comfortable driver. Nothing is wrong with the grizzlies at all, they worked and held up great. I just wanted the benefit of open diff while driving on the street. It's much more daily friendly now. Also I expect it to help with the longevity of my tires. This is not a trailer rig, I drive to and from the trail and around town regularly. I'm really happy with the swap so far    :beerchug:

Dingman.

Was the grizzly that noticeable on road?

I cant decide what i want for the back in my 14bolt.  Detroit vs spool. Mine is not my dd anymore though so leaning towards spool.  I sprung for the arb front because that is what i had in my toyota axles and loved it, but i cannot afford the $900 for the back too on top of everything else i still need and can't afford.

The grizzly was predicable and completely daily drivable(I did for 3 years everyday). You definitely know it's there though.
I would go for a detroit in the rear.... but since its not a dd and money is tight i wouldn't feel bad going with a spool.

Made some process today
Got my mount for the ARB switches in the mail today so went ahead and installed it on my dash.

Very clean and simple, and fits nice and tight. totally worth the $7 for the mount

How are the front axles liking those 40s?

They seem to be getting along just fine, I've actually never broken any axle components since I built them 3 years ago for the SAS. :yikes:
