What tires are you trying to run? What's your vehicle?

Cheap for me was add-a-leaf and a 1" body lift.

if your ever planing to do serious stuff i wouldnt buy it, these stock location lifts do not flex all that great. but if your just going for lift and to clear tires go for it. or if you like mud and trails..

I would highly recommend going with the Superlift 3 inch springs that they also have.  I ran the 4-1/2" Superlift on my 85 truck and was very impressed with the front springs.  The rear springs were very stiff, but that's expected with that much arch.

The springs that you linked may be just as good, but I know what I had worked well.

1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

here's a link to some pictures of my truck. the rear springs are Alcans in many of the pics, but the fronts are the Superlift 4.5" springs.

I am not sure if an Old Man Emu (OME) lift for minitrucks counts as "cheap," but I hear good things, and it would be bolt on.  Who knows you could even ask Marlin if they sell those springs here because they are an ARB dealer.

Also, if you can't weld, or you can't weld well, there's no shame in going to a reputable welder or fabricator for some very specific work.  Maybe, you could even do alot of the prep work yourself, like grinding off whatever needs to be removed before hand, building your front RUF packs, sourcing some F150s for the rear, buying other parts, and trailer it to a shop.

If you don't know, can't do or don't have then do what you can do. If you can wrench then that's what I'd do get that kit and put it on.

I'd bet you couldn't beat an OMU kit for what you're looking for.  x2

bd,

I plan on getting the 2" OME med. duty fronts and and the 2.5?" rears for my 1980 4x4;  run a Marlink with push/pull for a while, and then see if I can run an IFS box with a bent draglink that weaves under the passenger spring and over the driverside spring in a tri-y type of configuration, sort of like Brian Ellinger did on his F-Toy. It may require a fair amount of hacking into the driverside frame to get the box high enough, positioning it like 4Runner Rick did or MrStubbs did with the Quasimodo and Blueberry Crunch builds respectively.  With the stock axle location, there just may not be enough room.  At any rate, the OME 2/2.5" lift probably costs 3 to 400 bucks more than the Genuine kit, and that's a lot, but that will be my choice.   I am sure the OP appreciates your advice based on your experience with the Superlift stuff.  I have a Skyjacker lift on the front of a 1984 Diesel Toy 4x4 that I just bought, and I would not recommend it as a first choice.

i have come across a welder and a buddy of mine can weld. would u guys go f150s or chevys? ive heard the f150s you have to use a trac bar. so im kinda leaning towards chevy just for simplicity and there is so much info on them.

I'd try the F150s since they appear to have a bit more arch and they are 6" shorter than the chevy 63s.

Some F150 links from pirate:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=700418
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79554

A couple of Marlin board links:
http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=77810.0
http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=36372.0

The Chevy FAQ from pirate:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=20665

I'd strongly suggest that you also familiarize yourself with google advanced search methods (e.g. "site:board.marlincrawler.com f150" or "site:pirate4x4.com f150") so that you can research any potential modifications yourself, rather than learning by asking questions to a small number of board readers who may stumble upon your thread and whose knowledge like mine may be very limited or even flat out wrong.  This can be an expensive hobby/sport so it's best to get as much info as you can beforehand.  For advanced google search methods that have worked for me, see the following post:
http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=78115.msg919169#msg919169

Good luck!
