Driveline Angles

Alright with how tall you have to make an ifs truck with a SAS your driveline angle suffers in the rear especially with dual cases. so i was wondering, on a stock driveline setup (as in no cv joints in the rear) how extreme of an angle can you run without running into problems such as vibrations and binding.

That will be some good reading for you!  IMO get a CV shaft, and be done with it!

Get a CV shaft, clearence the CV. Point the pinion at the t-case flange. This does two jobs in one, better D-line angle and it gets your pinion out of the dirt and less prone to damage.

How to clearence a CV.

for the rear just shim it, i run a shimmed 2" block in the rear w/ my 63s and have Never had a problem, but when it comes to the front DL thats a different story, had to install a w56 just to get rid of my 4-Low thumping plus 3* shims, it was binding hardcore with the 6"+ lift. Dont get a CV ive never heard of them going more than 2 years in a crawler, they get clapped out fast

Been running them for years without a problem, rebuild about every five years. I do not run them in the front. Front d-shaft is custom made with a IFS single joint on each end, about fifteen inches of slip. Got it from Dave'z Offroad.
