pinion angles
« on: May 16, 2002, 05:37:04 PM »
I'm looking for the pinion angle in relation to the 3rd member mounting surface. Is it square( 90 degrees)? I need for both 4cly mini and FJ40. Also does anybody know the ralation between that mesurement and the caster/camber(example- if the 3rd member mounting surface was 90degrees vertical would the knuckle bearings be 90degrees vertical also, or how many more-90+/-)? Where can I find some really detail info on this stuff?????

Geeze dude- what's up with your :monkey:-ass questions? :talking:

I have never gauged it but the pinion looks to be perpendicular to the diff. As for the caster of the knuckles, I have no idea.  But my monkey does  :monkey: --> hahaha

Regards,
BigMike

I've always been a FJ :monkey:, I just climbed up the min truck tree one day and found all you  :monkey: hehe I found a Cruiser with an LT1 and a NV4500 but the guy won't trade and he wants 10.5 for it. I have all the parts now(350, TH350) to put mine back on the road by this winter. Its a Cruiser thingy.

Thanks, I'll have to see want you guy have. I've been all over the net but have not found what I was looking for. Just thought it was worth a try here.
