Drive line angles.
« on: Mar 05, 2009, 04:38:15 PM »
My ?? is this.
I have a lifted 85 4 runner and I built a square drive line for it, out of the stock front CV driveline. I have dual cases.

I am thinking about selling it and getting a regular round shaft for the front. The guy that is interested in my square shaft has a 4 runner with the same amount of lift, but he has only a single case. I know that the square d-line will need to be shortened (easy), however I am unsure if the max angle of the CV will be enough to work with the single case application.

Thanks for the info guys.

mine worked fine when i had a single case. but my front shaft was my origonal v6 d line, wich may have more angle to it than the 85 22re

When I had mine with a single case I had to rework the CV for added clearance.

The stock 85 cv will allow more angle than the ifs cv.

thats what i thought to but the cv out of my v6 runer got alot of angle. i got one out of a turbo extra cab and it had barley any angle. maybe i just got lucky with the one that came on my runner

Thanks guys, I ended up selling my square d-line for 150.00. I'm putting that money towards a Tom Woods CV.
