Those are some huge welds!
Sorta surprised no one has commented on the newest Top Gear America episode.... Had a decent looking 3rd gen pickup that was used as the "punishment" if any of there trucks didnt make it lol... was seen as a disgrace to drive it...thought it was pretty funny.... looks like Alaska would be an awesome place to wheel....
haha we were talking about it in the youtube vid threa, but freds40 said to start a new thread. i figured someone would i didnt like the trash talking on the yota, but it was the rig that everyone could trust to be the recovery vehicle. so that sums it all up right there.
Yah i was definitely wanting to know the stats on that yota lol.For wheeling in alaska, most people have huge wheelbases and giant tires, i went up there a few summers ago and saw some of the biggest off road rigs i've ever seen
"i was very pissed when they said the toyota was a disgrace.....to be honest we all know the 93 p/u would of made it through the whole thing with out breaking.... well it did make it through to think about it. i wish they actually showed the p/u doing all the trails also. just very disappointed how they talked towards it"
Meh..... it's a TV show, entertainment for the masses. Of course they trash talked the Toyota, the episode was 'toughest American truck'. But they paid Toyota a high compliment by picking it as their rescue rig -- one they knew would be fully capable and bulletproof -- for when their American trucks failed. I would have enjoyed seeing more of the Toyota on the trails, but that wasn't the theme of that episode.
You mean that the US version of the show don't have a Hilux on a podeum in their studio like the BBC one?
you know the only reason why any of the other rig's broke down is because they don't know how to drive.
i wont watch TG america. they try way to hard to be like the brittish show and do an extremely horrible job at it
watched it and was wondering why they never aired down the tires or learned how to wheel and i still don't believe that the 97 Dodge cost 3,000 and the original top gear is 1000% better
So what happen to BBC top gear ?
oh and does American TG have a Stig?
The episode was about humor and entertainment and the punishment for riding in the Toyota was intended with the same seriousness of the Calvin pissing stickers. I would suspect that they even called it a Hilux to avoid having the uninformed people of America realizing that they were bashing a Tacoma.
