Dude that's hard core. You need at least 20" rims to make it through there.

Just called the prather station and they said the trail is not to open until may 30th!! They said it may open earlier but as of now, not for another month! That is ridiculous! Where are we supposed to wheel between now and then..?

Blue canyon. I have a friend in north fork that knows some trails around there to.

toyotech

i know this isnt a hardcore trail but i want to do shut eye this sunday and if anyone knows the way and wouldnt mind leading i would love to go

You have to login to this site, but it has a good description and pinpoint location on the map. http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.aspx?trailid=BGS135-018

Do a google search for Shuteye Peak Trail and you'll find some mountain biking sites with more info.

Hungry Valley is open. The obstacle course is small, but pretty nasty if you get into the concrete pipes. Trails in Mojave are open except Nightmare Gulch. The desert in the winter and spring is the future of wheeling

toyotech

Anyone wanna go to shut eye or sky ranch road tomorrow?  I wanna go exploring.

TimberlineBryce

I couldn't make it yesterday but I want to go next time!!

if your start at the bottom before the 4 lanes of jose basin, you will get to the fun spots which there was only like 3 or 4 that we found. they are all close to each other and really no fun to go further into jose basin unless you want to come out at the top of the 4 lanes. didnt get any pictures of the fun spots since i was expecting more. we explored most of the area till we ended up at the other side (top of 4 lanes) lol was tired and went home down the 4 lanes

we started way on the other side and stayed near the power lines

If I get to a gate that is open, can I drive in even tho it says its closed online?

check the parks official website or just ask a ranger? No need to guess or assume I would get a definate answer before crossing into closed trails.

TimberlineBryce

Is there even a gate on bald?? Or just a couple of posts??
See you at the Timberline!

toyotech

i know right considering we havent seen the gate closed in years.  i pretty sure there is a gate right before you enter

Slow_T4R

Went up camping this weekend and thought I would check out the gate situation. There was a ranger sitting in his truck and he stopped and told me bald was closed and would open June 1st.
