So was the gate at the top of the stairs on the tower still chained and locked or did someone cut that to gain access to the platform?

BALD MOUNTAIN - WINTER USE: Bald Mountain will remain open for winter wheeling! Remember: Effective 12/15 - No Four Wheel Drive Vehicles are allowed on Rock Creek Road from the Lower Green Gate to Base Camp. This is in effect through 4/15. The road is groomed for the snow mobiles and cross country skiers. You will be sited if caught.

Bald Mountain Trail System (Lower Green Gate to Upper Green Gate) is close for snow melt from April 02 through May 29. There is an overlap from 4/15-5/29 when Bald Base Camp is open, but that is just Rock Creek Road and Base Camp- Still not legal to go out on the trails until 5/30... These date can be adjusted per the Forest Service discretion depending on the snow base etc... These "Season Use Dates" are in accordance to the FS.USDA.GOV MVUM (Motor Vehicle Use Map).

WTF?! Are we supposed to air drop our rigs at base camp and then air lift them out after playing in the snow?

Goldrush

Ya when I read that,  it didn't seem right. There is two ways to get to the bald mountain trail head. The Tamerack side or the bottom side off of Dinky creek road, But either way you have to be on rock creek road to get to bald mountain.

front hit the ground first then slowed me to an almost stop. I was coming down a little diagonal already, then the rear wanted to keep going so it slid to the passenger and started to go over

stock with low tire pressure you could make it to v rock. maybe to the tower. just at the Y take the left side and come back the same way. too slippery the other route
