22r smoking inside cab!!
« on: Jan 03, 2011, 07:26:26 AM »
So I have an 87 pu with a 22 r in it and its smoking into the cab through the little transfer case hole... I do have a front differential leak, could this be that with a lackbof oil, or could it be like an exhaust leak into the truck?

My guess, is that you have a leak, and its burning on your exhaust.  Does it smoke going down the road, sitting still, or both ?

Well I fixed the leak at the manifold and it still does it!! I'm scared to roll the windows up because I'm scared that if it is exhaust then it will kill me. I've never even heard of anything like this happening

Is there a noticeable oil leak anywhere? Since you fixed the exhaust leak I'd look for even a small one dripping on the pipes.

Like I asked before, how are the boots on your shifters. That is what boots are designed to do, keep the outside from getting in. If they are ripped or not sealed to the floorboard outside will get into the cab.
