So, now that it's over and had a little time to sink in...what the hell happened?  Governor Moonbeam, the lunatic from Frisco, Boxer, Feinstein.

Y'all gonna;

1. Give up and stay

2. Give up and move

3. Work on dividing the state

I just can't see Cali (or Californians) being very prosperous any time in the near term. I think y'all are on the rim of a giant deep toilet and I don't sense a lot of sympathy for the your circumstance. I hope we (the rest of America) won't put up with a huge, bottomless bailout (or even a small, shallow one).

Seriously...how do y'all feel? I don't see how y'all can stand it anymore.

I am far removed from anything remotely similar to most people's image of California. No traffic signals, no freeways, no smog, very few people.... retired and everything's paid for. Why would I move? Oh and by the way, I vote early & often, and none of those rascals got my vote. I ignore them and they ignore me.

most people that arent from califonia think its like the OC, or think every person is an environmentalist. completely not true. for the most part most of California is amazing. we have everything and a huge variety of people. you have to realize thats one big reason we have the political problems we do is that we are a fairly advanced state comparably. whether you agree with that or not and are more into old traditions, you have to agree that more problems and more decisions need to be made to compensate for its insanity. its part of the few states that can survive on itself. i love it here and for the same reasons people pregnant dog about it, i would pregnant dog about moving to a place like texas. in the town i live in, im within 5 minutes of every kind of person belief or lifestyle you could imagine. I think its pretty cool. plus where im at we get every season of climate and within 3 hours i can either be at the ocean, desert, or mountains. just like previous people have said, most people dont get affected by any of the crap you would hear about from the bull :pokinit: media we have. though we are hurting bad from the recession like most everyone else. its all about picking and choosing your pain to pleasure ratio. for me there are far to many pleasures than pains to move away any time soon.

I'm all for a split and believe it's coming, just not any time soon.  Things have to get super bad before they'll get better, so let moonbeam flop it all up worse than he ever has.  Maybe then we'll get somebody in office with a level head on their shoulders who makes their own informed decisions.

I wasnt there, so I didnt even think about voting.. kinda stuck cuz I was a cali resident living in oregon, dont know if i will come back, maybe this is a chance for me make some permanent decisions?
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

I will never move back.  Too much :pokinit: going on, too much govt control. I believe in the govt leaving me the hell alone, and I'll leave it the hell alone.

I too am able to be in the mountains, desert, or ocean within 3 hours.  (actually just the ocean, I live within 5 min of the mountains, and in the desert.)  I can own whatever gun I want, I can buy it and walk out with it the same day, I can carry any weapon I want pretty much anywhere I want, I can drive around with them in my vehicle without seperating the ammo from the gun.  I don't have to deal with stupid smog laws (In Reno we do have smog, but its a joke.)

Everything is cheaper.  Housing, registration, insurance, etc.  I can ride my dirtbike or take my truck 5 min out my driveway and I'm in BLM land, I can go shoot less than 20 min from my house.

I'm trying to think of a downside, but I really can't.

I understand the overall sentiment...BUT, you can't leave government alone. Otherwise Government becomes "they" or "them" instead of us...instead of "We the People".

There is only one reason...just one, for there to be intrusive, oppressive government. "All it takes for evil to triumph , is for good people to do nothing"...the apathy of the people creates a vacuum, and evil rushes in to fill that void. For too long Joe Sixpack sat at the breakfast table to read the morning paper...he said "Dang it Marge...they're going to raise taxes again! (blink, blink) Hey look the Cowboys finally won a game" and that was the end of his political involvement for the week.

I don't trust anyone...even those I vote for, to do the right thing, to represent me and all my views. The only person I trust without hesitation is me...and that's how (imo) how we should all feel. DC is a cesspool, even those with the best intentions can be drawn in to the quagmire.

The results of this election past don't call for a "set it and forget it" reaction from us...we need more than ever to keep up with our elected representatives on every level, remembering...they are not our leaders...they are our servants. The closer the citizen is to the seat of government, the more responsive that government is.

I have never liked government happening to me...I happen to government! I'm all grow'd up an' haired over...I am responsible for me and mine.

The Constitution isn't full of parables and riddles. It is painfully clear. If, at least, the Federal Government was limited to what is clearly laid out in that constitution...we would be awash in freedom and prosperity. That constitution guarantees us freedom...freedom from what? Freedom from oppresive government.

I think the welfare state is planning on applying for federal welfare that way the state can be just like its people, dependant on others to support it/us. For those that said it isn't that way just look at the unemployment levels in the state and remember those unemployment numbers only reflect those collecting unemployment benefits. It does not include those on the system collecting welfare which yes California ranks number one in welfare recipients.

I think there is some classic shortsightedness going on here. In the same vein as wheelers on the east coast not getting involved when wheelers on the west coast are concerned about land closures...it's the old "I still got mine" syndrome. Even in the Great Depression there were those with great wealth...just because "I still got mine" doesn't mean the state is headed in a good direction!

Unfortunately what needs to happen in California is that the US government needs to let it go bankrupt instead of bailing it out or the billions of debt it has.  It would open the eyes of the voters to show them what 40 years of liberalism and illegal immigration does to the one time richest state in the union.

California is not the only state with this problem.  If you look around the the country with all the states that have the biggest debt problems (California, Illinois, New York, Washington, Rode Island, Massachusetts etc)  They are also the same states that have been controlled politically by liberals for many years.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE

Nothing much can happen over the next 2 yrs, but since we finally have taken redistricting out of the hands of the legislature(Arnold's prop failed the first time 4yrs ago), we will have the opportunity to vote more Republicans into office as early as 2012, thereby negating the Dems stranglehold on our State Senate and Assembly.  Unfortunately since Moonbeam got elected(still can't believe he won fairly) there isn't any one to stop the Dems from screwing things up completely.  The only slim hope we have, is that Moonbeam seeing the error in his past becomes Gov. Brown, and tries to resolve a issues Dem to Dem, whereas past Rep Gov's have been unable to do so.  Every time Arnold tried to address the real budget issues he was stopped by the legislature or gov. employee unions.  The only cuts he was able to make were in the areas w/o much political clout, i.e., those w/o voices.  The only ones left to cut are the ones that are the very problem, our sacred cows, i.e., State employee salaries/pensions/benefits/retirement age, and the public school system(needs to be audited to see where $60billion + a year is going).  Until these areas are addressed, raising taxes which I am sure is going to happen, will only keep us going a few more years, at some point it is all going to collapse if the real cuts aren't made soon.  This is true for all the states, as well as the Fed.s.

For any of those who think CA wont effect them, you need to understand that with CA having the 5th(sometimes as low as 7th) largest economy in the world, our collapse would send the rest of the country into economic chaos.  For the last 60yrs, as CA has gone, so has the nation, and as the nation has gone, so has the world.

I think every Californian, on the right, that wants to get out...should get together with his like minded neighbors and head east. At the border though...they have to spend a few hours (days, weeks, months) with a hammer and chisel.
