Get another truck to flat tow your rig and fill the trailer with beer! Problem solved :)
By the way, I'm very glad this buildup thread can continue, it's a nice one.

well....I'll be heading over to Locktup's on sunday to complete the 4 link and a few other mods.. :blah:
install the coil springs,set up the shocks and set up the bump stops...we'll see how it all comes out... :dunno:

since the Dana 60 front(center ) is a cast iron piece,Locktup made a reinforcing bracket for the lower link mount to the cast to the steel outer tube...notched it out so the heim could move easily without interference

Locktup just  accuired some new sweet fabricating tools and equipment...bent up some 3/16" plate for the lower axle coil spring mounting plates...

bent up some  1.5" tubing for the upper coil spring mounting plates...

upper coil spring mounts... :bowdown:
we're using 2 round plates so the coil spring can easily be removed..the upper plate is bolted to the lower plate ..
just have to remove the upper and lower axle coil hold down bolts for a quick and easy removal of the spring

I forgot the bump stops at my house so we really could not cycle the suspension today :hammer:...we did need a set of tires as well which I did'nt have mounted yet... :ack:
not sure at this point of how much more lift the coil springs are going to give me...the springs were about 21" uncompressed  and with a jack under the front axle and supporting the truck measured out at about 17"...looks like I'll gain a inch or two from my old leaf's which will help during full stuff so the oil pan will not contact the front upper axle link brackets...bump stops will be set accordingly when the correct heights and shock mounting  locations figured out..

Locktup did manage to brace up the rear "x" on the exo during the work week..
should hold up to even my driving style.... :nerv:

hopefully have the Toy done by next weekend...i'll get the tires mounted up this week and the bump stops over to Locktup and see what's next for the front end..some limit straps are in order no doubt...I'm anxious to pull my old motor and stuff in my LC stroker motor sitting in the garage...
should have the horsepower i've always wanted...

thanks.....unfortunately I don't think the Toy will be finished and ready for moonrocks..I'm planning on finishing the front end,engine ,my trailer and all the other things I have going before heading out  wheelin the next few weeks..

damn thats a steal on the motor, I have about that into mine and am about 40 hp less and not the cool factor of the stroker.  Were going up to the rubicon june 9-11 if its ready then.  should be a good time

Do you have any pics of this at flex? Do the uppers hit the frame or if not how close do they get. Does this wide spread of the uppers mount have a flex steer problem? Other then that looks good. I would have used air shocks myslef but Coils will work just as well and cost less in the end and you get more clearence on the oil pan.

i dont' have any pics yet and will post some up as soon as I get the tires back on,shocks mounted up and bump stop height set..I did cycle the suspension with a floor jack and liked what i saw...pinion angle remained constant,no binding of any joints and had plenty of clearance between the links and frame and oil pan and front upper link mounts...I really don't think flex steer should be a problem unless i'm running at higher speeds other than rock crawling..I chose coils over air shox and coilovers because they are easy to adjust,easy to change out,are very stable and consistent and don't unload on uneven surfaces...we'll see how it all works out..

It's good to be back on this forum and thanks for the kind words about my build..Locktup is butt ugly but does do some fine work and i'm not sure where my Toy would be without him......i'll try and keep my posts to 4x4 related material...it's all good bro....cool video..
