Visalia
« on: Mar 15, 2010, 05:18:07 PM »
Well,
I'm back in the 4x4 game after being out for the past 5 or so year.  This time I'm doing it right though.
I just picked up a 1979 in great shape.  1st gen!!!  Really straight except for the passenger front fender is a little dented, but I've got a replacement.  I'm going to keep it mild, nothing hardcore, just something to get me back into the lakes and whatnot.  I don't want to kill this thing.
I'm planning on 33's, front and rear tube bumpers, and sliders.  4.56 with detroit in the rear.  cage.  winch.  That's about it.  I want it to be a really clean 1st gen that stays that way.
Right now though, I've got some 20r woes.

Well here's all I've got for pictures so far.  Picked it up last night, and with the exception of a few small things it's running fine.

Going to pick up a ton of yota stuff from a friend of mine.  All the spare parts I can handle (except, of course, what I need right now)

Hopefully 33's on by next weekend.

No new pics yet.  I'll get some soon.   It's back from the major tuneup though, only found a few things that need to be addressed in the future.

Here's a better photo I took while on training this weekend.  Shows the only damage to the rig.

Just a little one.  Too straight to damage too much.  Going with bumpers, sliders and cage.  2"ish lift with 32's.  rear locker.

Sounds good.  I used to wheel a bit out of Fresno, but never went too much south of Visalia.
