and here is the next morning.   :hammer:  We had a pretty fun time wheeling on the lake bed all night. unfortunatly we had a little too much fun and i flopped my truck. the motor knocks and i have to replace a windshield and pull the dent out to get the door back on. owell time for an internal cage now.

So i pulled the oil pan yesterday and checked all the rod and main bearings. they all looked fine except for the one on cylinder 3 i noticed when i was trying to turn the crank with a wrench it got binded up. i loosened up the number 3 cap and it free'd it up. so i tightened it back to 33 ftlbs and it binded back up. so i took the bearing out and on the bottom side there is a rub mark with a little bit of scouring. the crank looks fine. What do you guys think get new bearings and see if thats the problem? anyone ever have this happen to them? what would cause that? thanks

i got a pretty good deal i think my reman cost me 1500 i priced out getting mine rebuilt and buying other engines and the cheapest i could find was 2200 so 1500 was a no brainer for me

Truck ran great up at the Cantina. i didn't break anything so thats good. i have a list of things i need to fix to make it better but nothing major. one being i have longer front springs than when i originally built the front so my shackle angle is horrible. Two i really need to save up for some Duals. Other than that we had a great time. i went with my wife jess and my friend jake and his 84. here's some pics of us. we kept it real easy goin this trip because i really didn't want to have to fix anything the first day back in my rig.

And I had to let the Wifey drive back from Spider. she drove Jakes truck since he has 4.7s.  She did really well. And best of all she is convinced i need dual cases so i can "go slower like Jakes Truck." so it was a win win   . Last one is us doing our final check off but jake didn't see his 3 sheared knuckle studs. We limped it back to Georgetown with some roadside engineering so all was well.  :hammerhead:

Nice Tacoma! You did a good job fixing the roof after the flop. It's hardly noticeable in the pics. Does the door still fit? Can't wait to build up my 97' extra cab DD someday.
