I'm starting this page to show what has become of my 99 2.7L Tacoma over the past year. In no way shape or form is this a build up page but rather a picture gallery and commentary of what i have done to her over the year. I got almost all of my information from Marlin , Pirate , and TTORA forums and so i would like to possibly answer some questions for those about to tackle this project, or those pondering it.

So here she is back in June of 09 with my 3 inch coil spacer lift up front. Shackle lift in rear. and 2" body lift. i just got these tube doors and sliders Welded up that i bought from 4xinnovations.

As you can see something needs to be done about this aweful flex issue i'm having. thats my buddies 86 i'm on.

Here is my Fiance' and I headed up to Loon Lake for the weekend.

So one day sitting at home i decided that i needed to swap out the ifs for a solid axle. So i spent the next week or two looking on line for tacoma swaps and found that the most common swap was a Waggoneer Dana 44. to my luck i found one that had just recently come off a swapped tacoma that needed a little work. i then spent the next month gathering all the other parts i would need to at least getting it set on four tires. I got front leafs off Craigslist for $40. I got some 63 inch Chevy springs off Craigslist for $85. i got a set of Goodyear MT/R 315/75/16 mounted on some cheap black stealies for $250 from a garage sale. I bought a hanger kit off line and some u bolts. Next came the Giant leap of unbolting all the IFS and Torching the brackets an crossmembers off the frame. Now keep this in mind i did this at my work in the parking lot so time was of the essence. My Chief was ok with me doing this off duty but I didn't want to wear out my welcome. I also had already tacked the front hanger in place and put on the rear Chevy springs with my MTRs. That took all of about 2 hrs to do.

Now i couldn't find all the exciting pictures of my grinding so for now here is my taco sitting on the 44 and 315's next to my friends tacoma with a 3 inch ifs lift.

Thanks man.. ya i would say i have no regrets whatsoever.. it is actually my daily driver still too.. i drive about 40 miles to work

here it is after i pushed it over to a different spot since i have been working on it in a handi cap spot for two days. The entire swap as far as getting it on the new axle and all 4 tires took about 2 days worth of work. now all i have to do at this point is breaks, shocks, steering box and linkage, 5.29s for rear, front driveline made, and a couple of other minor things

No not yet. that is coming this spring. Unfortunately they are around 1500 from marlin and only slightly cheaper from inchworm

so after fabbing up a steering column. putting on shocks, and ifs box and frame plating, and a home made square drive line Me my fiance and two other rigs headed for the Rubicon (i live 40 min away) Here we are at the loon lake entrance

And as luck would have it i snapped my driver side front main leaf. i guess thats the price you pay for buying $40 leaf springs off craigslist. luckily my buddy had a portable MIG welder and some scrap steel. Here is a pic of the trail fix. So it didnt completely ruin the day as we kept on truckin.

Here's the rigs at the second slabs. it was getting late so we decided to call it a day and turn around here. For a first run i was very impressed with how the new suspension handled the rocks ( minus the inconvenience of snapping a leaf)

Thanks man. After i limped it home i took a pair of stock toy fronts my friend gave me and added the leafs out of my old pack to beef them up. Been runnin them for 'bout 4 months now. i want to get the 4" marlins though. Anyone runnin those? lookin for some input.

Dingman i made a 2010 list for my truck. i just installed my Front Range Off Road crossmember and my rear lockrite is going in soon. i think my next two upgrades are going to be 37" MTR's (if i can find them) and my duals. but as for cheap upgrades i'm going to bob and dove the bed and maybe build a new front spring pack soon. Weather permitting...lol
