Wondering the exact same thing, I have 40" MTR's and I'm up in the air about trading them for some 42" IROCs...

Jud were you going to shave your 14 bolt to? I just did some mild searching on google about shaving them seems pretty easy actually im probably going to do it but I don't have a ring gear in my 14 bolt so ill have to get my gears set up first.

I'm just gonna take the nasty lip off the bottom for now. Mainly because I'm just gonna beef up the stock diff cover and it isn't beef enough to stay sealed without the lower cover bolts.

for sure thats what I did my buddy took the pictures of it so you cant tell much but mines smooth from axle tube to axle tube so there isn't a lip at all. I don't have a pinion or cover so I'm not to sure what im going to do about that whole situation.

I think your mtrs are really close to the same height as 42" iroks. like maybe an inch difference, I could be wrong but at a local offroad shop there was an 40" mtr and a 42" irok under the table and they were both touching the bottom of the counter.

Yea but mounting the 13.50" wide MTR on a 9" wide wheel plus the beadlock so a 10" wide wheel, verse mounting a 14.50" wide IROC on the same 10" wide setup I think the IROC will be taller.

My buddy runs 40" MTRs on 9" wides with beadlocks and they are about the same height as another buddys 39.5x14.50" IROCs on 8" wide wheels...

Yeah thats true for sure. how'd you already find wheels? I cant find any to save my life so im gonna have to buy some new I think. But iroks are legit just not as many people are running mtrs any more.

Its called RTV

89sastoyo

I read up on it, it just seemed sketchy since there was no bolt on the bottom but I found out how I wan't to do it I just have to get my gears set up first so I can see where the ring gear sits ya know? I wanna buy a full 14 bolt swap kit from ruff stuff though thats pretty sweet comes with u bolt flip diff cover and the spring perches and disc brake brackets.

its a deal but I dont wanna buy it and not use the diff cover. There covers are cool I like them but I guess I could try and order it with teh diff ring and build my own cover.

Will do for sure when do you work now days? nights or days I forgot lol.

Last night I traded my gsr leather seats for some corbeau seats with mounts. They mount on a tubing thing that goes behind the seat and has mounts for harness's and is build around the tunnel and what not. MY buddies camera has pictures so ill post em up when he send them to me.

89sastoyo

nice well yeah ill hit you up when ever I go out there. I am basically going threw everything just doing maintance :pokinit: right now since I haven't been keeping up on it lol. And then im going to start getting stuff ready for the swap.

Here are a few pictures of the new set up.

This ones the tubing and everythign but in the 2nd gen x cab I got them from, in my truck the back mounts are basically right against the rear seats.

And here they are mounted in my truck

I am still tryin to get the pics from my buddy to show how well they fit my subs are snug against the back and fit perfect I also and trying to build a center consol the mount in the center cause theres two pieces of tubing parallel it would be perfect to mount to. one thing is they seem lik they were made for something more narrow like a car or something so I may use this for a while and then build something simallar to fit my truck a little better.

honestley probably like yours and the shackles I was thinking can I use my boomerangs and put both the spacers on one side? wouldnt that be pretty much the same thing as sky ones? I really like how my truck sits and it will sit higher without those
