chevy or dodge front 60? how much? do the gears match the 14 bolt?

89sastoyo

well considering the 14 bolt is gear less id say they wont match ahha. but its a chevy king pin 60 stock 410s has pretty much new brakes on it and looks fairly clean. I bought it for 700 and im buyin the ballistic steering arms from the guy for 75 I was hoping to talk him down to six but I still got a deal considering you cant find one for less then 1200 unless its a dually 60.

89sastoyo

so for this build im going to try and keep a price list going to see how much i am into the swap.

so heres the list.

d60 700$
14bolt 12$
5.38s 400$
ballistic arms 75$
all the steel needed including steering 200$
rear disc 225$
I dont think theres much more minus the little things to convert the break lines im planning on running hard line with sae fittings on one end and toy on the other for the front ill by the adapters.

d60 to toy flange and 14bolt to toy flange 400$

so with that said haha adds up fast but ill probably try to keep it around the 2g mark and build as much as I can. I was going to link it but i think ill just throw it on the leaves i have now untill I can afford a link set up.

I'm gonna rock it welded F&R for a while untill I can't stand it anymore and can afford a selectable. My plans for linking it are moving the front axle forwards like 5 more inches so Ill have full hydro and the welded diff wont matter lol.
so my ball park is around

its a long ass drive to your house man! idk how you do it so much

GrenadedToy

gonna shave the front to match?

toyotanner

if i had 60's it would be welded front and rear... <--- reliability and cheap... IMO

89sastoyo

I have to search more about shaving the 60 there pretty wierd there like shaved on part of it already kinda and then the bottom 2 or so inches sticks down its really stupid but ill search and look into it for sure.

I know its redic dude I have put 20 thousand miles on the crv since july haha. but I can't live out here since I work in town but I try to come and go as least as possible and make trips for a reaason ya know?

and for sure I mean with the strength of a 60 I don't see a problem other than steering it which im hoping to fix as soon as I can. I wanna do hydro asst but i dunno since im planning on running full hydro when I link it.

also just counted the ring and pinionh on the 60 and its factory 4.56s its not a dually axle either im pretty stoked about it even know im not planning on running those gears it just means i got even better of a deal than i thought.

well i need to figure out what im going to do about the drive lines.

any ideas?

89sastoyo

uh depends on how much longer it will actually make it ya know? might just be different how it mounts or somehting I have no idea to be honest.

And THK I found out what its for its basically to help the steering out and compensate for the lift, just like a drop pitman arm would for a toyota with push pull.
