  Use Narrow step grate( like they use to make stairs at a Factory) and wire rope like they make lifting slings out of.  They are stiff enough that the steps don't move when you put your fooy on them but bend out of the way if you run them up against the dirt or a rock etc.

yes  the top is  one of the old mounts,  i almost didnt get that rusted sucker off of there  :hammer:


the bottom  is  one of my handy dandy  body lift block  steel sleeves  :eyebrow:

Why not run whith something like this after I get your sliders to ya? This one is wraped under to the bottom of the floorboard and is easily removable. Do you have any pics of what you want for sliders?  :headscratch:

the  pinion nut  was stripped 

i put another nut on it  but  i think the crush sleeve   must have  CRUSHED
