R-series Tranny Question
« on: Sep 09, 2004, 10:07:43 PM »
Recently Marlin enlightened us about how Aisin upgraded the W56 tranny in 1992 with lots of little improvements

Quote
"Shift shaft bushings, Reverse syncrow brake, Oil baffle, Internal magnets, Bearing and Syncrow improvements, ect.

These improvements resulted in better mileage, smoother shifting, and more quiet operation."

Now I'm wondering if the R151,  or R150 up to '95, had any of these goodies?  -- Matt

R51f's only came out in 86 and 87 in turbo rigs but R150f's could very well have been improved.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??
