G-series Tranny
« on: Mar 14, 2011, 12:40:09 PM »
I got this truck with a G-series tranny.
I can only find one drain plug and one fill plug for the tranny and t-case......seems odd. ???

Anyone know this tranny?
I am used to the L-series and they had plugs for BOTH t-case and tranny.

Just wanted to check if anyone else thought this was odd or if there is a plug hiding someplace strange.

According to Marlin the transmission drain plug is 1 1/2" forward of the cast iron plate located in the middle of the transmission. The transfer case drain plug is located at the bottom of the t/case housing. The transmission fill plug is located on the driver side of the rear housing 3 1/2" behind the cast iron center plate. The transfer case fill plug is located on the rear fact just to the right of the 7-bolt rear seal, speedometer housing. Hope this helps.

Thankyou for the help.

The only plugs I see on the transfer Case are on the back of it, one on the upper right, one lower at the bottom left.

I will pull them off and see if they are the right ones.
