I picked up my full hydro steering kit from a buddy today. came with a 2" x 8" single ended ram, orbital valve, trans cooler for hydraulic fluid, small electric fan to mount to the trans cooler,and a custom made oversized reservoir. also some tabs and such to mount the ram. I got everything for 325. here is a couple pics. i also threw in a couple more pics of the rear dove that i didnt post before

i basically cut the body right down the center of the floor. I started from a center point right in line with the back of the b pillars and centerline of the width of the floor. then i marked the center (width) point of the body in the back where the tailgate would normally be. This left me with a triangle /\ shape to cut out of the floor. before i cut that out i cut the two rearmost body mounts off the frame on both sides so the body could slide in towards the frame. then i had to cut the floor all the way accross (width wise) right inline with the b pillars so the floor had a place to move when i pulled the sides in. its complicating to explain without pics, and alot of goofy things start to happen when you narrow a body! i order to really do it the "right" way it would have taken alot longer! but since its a rock crawler and i basically dont even have a floor behind the rear seats, its gonna work fine for me. I also had to modify the body mounts that i cut off so they would line up wit the holes in the body agan. It was pretty simple though, basically just cut some material off so they could sit in closer to the framerails

That is almost very clear to me. My biggest question is how you got the body to bend right behind the door seam (B-pillar, I guess). That I can't figure out.

Any pics you can supply would be great! That's really a great idea!

good! haha in order to get the body to bend right behind the b pillar, i had to cut out a 1/4" wide notch on the top of the bedside right behind the b pillar (on the surface where the top mounts). And i also cut down the innerstructure to the floor behind th interior panel right next to the b pillar. after that i just rachet strapped the body over intoplace where i wanted it and welded it bck together! i will try to get more specific pics tonight

This truck is amazing. love the ride height and the fact that you put wider axles but not fullsize chevys. way to keep it all toyota

thanks man! yeah i really didnt want to go fullwidth, it really didnt interest me. i didnt want to be qute that wide. also i am very happy to say that it is still 100% toyota! Thats the main reason i did it!

I've got the nearly identical ram on my truck but in 6" flavor. It's great for my 37s; have stock pump/res but added a cooler... 9x13? I forget but it's dang sweet!

HA HA 14hr days man!! Welcome to my world then go work at a remodle till midnight and all weekend! You can get tons of stuff done doing that! Anyway the rear dove turned out sick man and the whole ride is bad effing ass man!! I cant wait to wheel with ya an be like yep he's my friend and we wheel together!! HA HA Dude last year i think we already wheeled like 5 times or so before may and its may now and we have not hit a rock trail of any kind!! I was gonna swing over last night but ya must of been tired!! I'll be over this week for sure man!! keep up the sick murdered out customs man!!

yeah we usually dont do overtime like you do, had soe job that was super important last week i guess. The dove turned out pretty good, i'm happy with it! Yeah we need to get out wheelin really soon. I'm super antsy to get in the rocks again. i didnt notice you text me until i was going to bed last night so i didnt get back to ya. you ar going to have to come over and check it out for sure this week! i pretty much got the rear suspension done today! i'm going to fully weld it all tomorrow after work

I went over to his house and checked the runner out and all i can say is WOW that thing is looking trick! Its gonna be a whole different ride on the trail and wheel really awesome! I cant wait!

Been making some good progress lately. the rear suspension is all setup. just have to put in a few more gusetts and such and get the air shocks dialed in. I am also going to put in a tube up over the fuel cell connecting the shock hoops. I also put one in over the engine a couple weeks ago but never posted a pic.

couple of the fuel cell all mounted up. I welded in some expanded metal underneath the tank to help support the weight of the tank.
