I quit smoking 3 years ago this past Christmas best thing I ever did...  I was super broke back then and the damned smokes were running the show, no matter how flat busted I was I would find the money for another pack.  I finally got tired of them and quit smoking, drinking mt. dew and eating fast food.  I kept a $20 bill in my pocket for about a month... The SAME bill the whole time as I wasn't buying all the crap I had been before.  I was a absolute PRICK for about a week but I had more energy than a tweaker..  It was crazy, I was super figity and my mind was racing constantly but as the cravings subsided so did the tweaker esqueness.  The biggest reason it was a good thing is this chick I didn't know on another forum had posted that she had recently quit and was talking about how it was going for her.  I sent her a PM simply asking how the non smoking deal was going and explaining that I had just quit too.  Turns out I was headed to her area the following week so we met up for coffee.  We ended up getting married one year to the day after our meeting at denny's for coffee.... :hahaha:

I did have a bit of a relapse on new years right after I quit.  I was completely trashed and a buddy smoked the same brand I did so I snagged one and went outside.  First half was pure familiarity and extasy, then the next drag was vile and gross so I tossed it.  A few minutes later I tried again with the same results.  I haven't touched a lit cigarette since.  Although I will tell you that even today I have some wicked strong cravings but I just tell myself that I am a NON smoker and I won't start again.

If I can quit so can anyone you just have to nut up and do it.

It was only costing me about $400 a year :gap:  Apparently I was getting the cheap cancer  :smack:

I figure with my job, its pretty much a guarantee that I will get some form of cancer or another, so I might as well minimize the risk.  Plus, I like having all my teeth.
