I AM CURRENTLY REBUILDING A 82 TOYOTA 4X4, IT HAS THE TURBO MAGS TOYOTA OFFERED ( MY SON'S 82 HAS THE SAME WHEELS) I ALSO HAVE A SET OF WHITE SPOKE STEEL WHEELS. ( IF I USE THEM THEY WILL BE PAINTED BLACK) I PLAN ON USING THE TRUCK FOR TRAIL RIDING AND HAULING THE 4-WHEELERS. I'M GOING TO PUT 10.50X34 LTB SWAMPERS ON IT AND USE 5.29 GEARS W/AUSSIE LOCKERS. NOT SURE ABOUT DUAL CASES YET ( I DO HAVE A SPARE CASE) RIGHT NOW THE TRUCK IS STRIPPED DOWN TO THE FRAME, CAB, AND AXELS. ANY HOW, WHICH WHEELS WOULD BE THE BEST?

I HAVE A PICTURE OF THE TRUCK WHEN I FOUND IT IN THE FIELD (IT HAD BEEN THERE FOR 5 YEARS) BEFORE I STARTED TEARING IT DOWN. I WILL TRY TO POST IT. (NOT REAL GOOD WITH COMPUTERS).

what ever u run, make sure there steel dude. ive seen an alumunim rim split into 7 pieces after a nice drop off with low tire pressure.

Not sure the terrain you will be wheeling, but if it is light rocks and not boulders, you can run whatever you like. Aluminum has the tendency to get torn up on the rocks, but it will last, with some welded on guards(similar to what bead locks look like).

Running a 10/50 tire you will want to run the wider of the two rims, the spoke steel wheels will likely be the better choice.

To post a pic you can either use a host site, like imagebam.com, photobucket.com, etc., they are free. You upload a picture to their website, then use one of the codes(should be labeled bb) and post it in your reply. Or you can use the attachment function here on the board. Click on "Additional Option" under the reply box, and then click on the "Choose File" next to the word Attach, once the file is loaded from your computer, it will be posted w/your reply. Either way of posting pictures works, just the host site doesn't use the boards bandwidth since it is stored off site, and not on the board itself

I'M GONNA PAINT THE CAB KRYLON FLAT TAN AND THE "FLAT BED" BLACK THE TURBO WHEELS ARE BLACK AND ALUMINUM. I WILL TRY TO POST SOME PICS OF THE SONS TRUCK (IT'S DONE) AND MY TRUCK (A LONG WAY TO GO). I LIVE ABOUT 30 MILES FROM WINDROCK, BUT DON'T PLAN ON RUNNING THE HARDCORE TRAILS (RATTLE ROCK)

ok I finally got the truck pressure washed, time to start putting it back together,:woohoo:. bought some military tail lights off Ebay. just for something different still trying to find the cord for my camera so I can show ya'll how sad the poor truck looks.

I personally like aluminum wheels, I never cracked or split one either. I bent a rear v6 shaft and didn't hurt the wheel. And they look better, plus are lighter.

I run steel wheels, for several reasons,
1. if you fold a lip, you can hammer it back,
2. they are thinner and will give you more thread to lugnut engagement,
3. cheaper to replace.

Good looking start for a truck. Keep us posted, and we like, no I mean LOVE pictures of everybody's projects! No matter how trivial, as long as they are in focus.

I have a set of white spoke wheels with 9.50x34 swampers (worn about half way) not sure of the back spacing CHEAP make offer I will take a pic this weekend for you

I sanded and spray painted my chrome rims so far the paint has held on there. They look better than how they used to look rusty chrome.
