yea that stuff inside the upper intake was like 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick, when the paint thinner hit it it turned to a black gooey jelly

   No I just get upset because I can't come over on the weekend and do the heavy lifting and  on a few parts.  It's not your fault if you are sick.  I am asking for a few things too...Motor together with the LC cam( not too heavy lifting but some times a super big pain in the  ), Body lift(heavy lifting), inside cleaned out and seats replaced( heavy and a pain)..SAS/lift(heavy, hard, pain). and the Wormgear thingy..   Glen thats alot of work...Then all the little things that we find along the way...THrottle cable housing is broke at the fire wall, is the heater core a mud-hair caked mess?  .  How bad is the Auto....Bad lines/fluid burnt clutch plates....


We'll get through Glen just hang in there.

Mike theres not any rust, i looked and didnt find ANY,  that brown you see was where the insulation stuck

well kids.  about a year ago Mike sold this 4runner to my daughter and son-n-law.

VERY long story short,  It will start and run for a few seconds then die.  It has 4 brand new injectors from LCEngineering,  we went through swapping the ECU out with one we know was good.   I got fed up with it pulled the intake off and put a intake and carb on it and they drove it for several months.   The transmission wouldnt kickdown because the kickdown cable had no place to mount to the carb.

I finally got the EFI  all back on and timed but it still wont run.  It will start, run a minute then die.

I need help.  hit me with idea's  I adjusted the afm, (wouldnt start at all) then put it back to stock and it ran for a couple minutes then dies.

have you checked the afm to see if its bad, usually a run and die, or a start and die, is the csi running the truck.
