I dont know anyone thats had troubles wit stock rear slip.

I have the trail gear front one but when i did duals i cut it and welded a piece of schedual 80 in there and have railed it no problems none before either never had a problem where they splines are either seems to hold up. As for the rear i'd get one made by a shop just because its ballanced and will be new and nice usually shops have thicker tubing aswell so they aren't as thin as a stock one.

Cheap doesn't necessarily mean poor quality. most of my friends with high dollar round tube driveshafts run square shafts and keep the round one as a spare

well :pokinit:..... got pulled over today right after class on my way to work, no speeding no hotrodding, nothin!  got pulled over by a state patrol and he straight up roasted me! Truck is too high, tires are to wide (stick out past fenders) and blah blah blah....  busted out the tape and measured my bumpers..... front-39'' rear-34''  legal max in WA-front-24'' rear-26''.... measured my tires--6 1/2'' protruding from fenders..... 6-7 inches of suspension lift--- WA legal max--4''!!!!  He took pics and the whole nine yards, then wanted a life story from me about my record and then tried to make me feel guilty for driving such a monstrosity of a little truck.. Told me a story how a guy in a truck like mine ran right over a Ford fiero and decapitated the poor guy in the ford and the other driver went to prison for involuntary man slotter.....  I got grilled for 40 minutes on the side of a busy freeway in 25 mph winds......   so needless to say it was not a good day after that plus a $250 ticket didnt make things any better......  :maddest:

SO...... I put my 31's on that have stock offset 15x8 wheels with 31x10.50 wild country xtx's..........  :headshake: talk about a joke!!! it looks retarded now but i need to drive... if i didnt put those on they will impound my toy next time they catch me! I will have the 82 2wd goin here within a couple weeks then i can cage my 92 and all that jazz.....

I'll post a pic of it tomorrow with the itty bitty tires on it..... 31's are way to small for that truck...

Smells like BS to me....

I would find DMV of Washington's official code on the matter before you go and pay a fine and get your ticket signed off. I just went out and measured my gfs 93 extra cab on 31s, all stock with well worn and sagging suspension. It was 20.5" for the front bumper and 22.5" for the rear bumper. 3.5" higher than stock is the limit? Doesn't sound right. Around here PG&E and NID, hell, even the Sheriff's department have lifted vehicles whose bumpers are definitely higher than 3.5" over stock.

In regards to the tires, what did he cite you for on that? Did he tell you your tires cannot protrude at all? Or did he tell you to get mudflaps? There should also be some provision in the code for tires that stick out wider than stock.

You should post up the exact things he wrote you for and likewise look them up yourself and find the exact code as stated by DMV. To me this sounds like an :moon: with a badge who is biased for one reason or another and obviously targeted you and went way too far with what should have been a simple routine stop. His story about a lifted truck cutting some guys head off should have nothing to do with you and in itself is poor police work. Right there it shows he has some disdain for lifted trucks and is passing it on to you. A guy driving a blue Pontiac Boneville drove off the road and crashed into crowd of small children, does that mean every blue pontiac bonevvile driver should be pulled over, harassed and informed of the gruesome accident? No.

Do some research on this before you go any further.

well on my ticket it only states: 204.10.022.6--> Bumper requirements and 204.10.022.7--> Fenders required......

$124 each! he stated that NO tread may protrude past the fenders, flares, or mudflaps! Well I am running actual TRUCK mudflaps from the diesel shop I work at and I have seen some HUGE trucks around town that NEVER get messed with..... Pissed me off that he said they would impound my rig... he tried to make me go sit in his car and I refused, floppin' bull crap harassment is what it is!  I am just going to college and working my ass off to pay my bills and still working on my dui fines... now how in the hell am I ever supposed to get my other rig on the road or pay my bills with harassment charges like that???? good question..... there are alot of criminals and such out there that need to be addressed instead of harassing 4 wheelin rednecks that are trying to make an honest to God living!

What do those codes actually state? I have been written up for things based on a manipulation of how a code was worded, when in reality I was 100% in compliance with the code. The officer was banking on my ignorance. With budgets in the shitter, they are writing tickets for anything and everything, even if it pushes the boundaries of what the ticket is being written for. I would find out what those codes state exactly. In CA, the Fenders and Mudguards ticket states that as long as your tires are adequately covered by either your fender and OR your mudflaps, you are okay. Key word "ADEQUATE". That leaves it up to interpretation of the officer, wether he thinks your tires are adequately covered. I was written up for teh same code twice, once for mudflaps and again for fender flares. The second ticket I just took to CHP with my mudflaps on and handed it to him to be signed off. He told me I "Should" have fender flares as did the first officer who cited me for the initial mudflap ticket. Both times I was told I "probably should" have fender flares but they did not make me do it. Read those codes and make sure you really are exceeding the limitations of the law.

you're missing that the CHP are :stopit: and have nothing better to do then harrass people in jacked up trucks... instead of busting those who are speeding, being wreckless and drunk.

but the economy is making them even more gay and they just harrass whoever they can to get that damn quota in.
think about it... do you ever see a City Police, County or State Patrol abiding the law? F*** NO! they are worse then the ones the pull over. It drives me nuts.

I was pulled over on my way home from the mud bogs by Idaho State Patrol and he said i was doing 54mph in a 45mph zone. "thats why you caught up to me so fast" I'm like I was doing 40mph and YOU were going faster then I was!" yeah he had nothing to say to that. all of us in the car were callin his bluff... then he had me get out and do a FULL sobriety test. I had not a single drop to drink and he kept accusing me of being under the influence, I was like dude I am on probation for one and two I have to work in the morning. I do not drink anymore and I havent for a over a year. he just looked at me and told me to stand there behind my rig while he ran all of our names and :pokinit:..

I stood there while two other County Sheriffs stood gaurd.... THE :moon: COULDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF HIS CRUISER AFTER 20 Minutes! he handed all of stuff over to one of the sheriffs and TOOK OFF!!!! I got off with absolutely NOTHING! but my point is they try and catch the freaking dumb ones with :pokinit: they didnt even do just get their quota.

I say you get that WA Code out and make sure of what it says before you do any fines man.
