he basically told me he would help me out if i got stuck, but it will be mostly me. ill do everything i can myself and what i cant do (for whatever reason) he said he would come in and help me out.

i think im gonna take his tires fro rolling the runner...since they fit on the truck.

Well, since you helped him with the last one, it shouldn't be to hard :gap:  Get a FSM, or a haynes or chilton at least, if yo udon't already have one, and go to town.  What you can't do yourself, and he can't help you with, through pictures we can here on the board.  :gap:  Your brother definitely owes you.

Thats my desktop at work.

Anyway, 35's and IFS, bad idea. You better carry alot of extra cv's with you.  I would go for 33's, IMO thats the largest tire you should run on CV's.  I know lots of people do it, but I have had to change out quite enough on rigs rolling on 33's.

As for the engine swap being easy or not. Its easy if you know what you are doing. I could do it in a weekend you may need a few weeks.  I would start by pulling the motor out of the runner.  Things that my effect the ease of the swap would be auto-manual (if they are not the same) and year of manufacture.  If you let me know what year/tranny is in each truck, I can tell you what you need to do to make them work with each other.

46&2

Your brother is a jerk if he doesn't put a new engine in it for you. He freakin' rolled your 4runner. And if you don't tell him to stop being a wanker then just put a new one in yourself. You have a DD (ranger) so there shouldn't be anything stopping you from working on that in your spare time.

My friend Adam rolled my other friend Wade's truck and he bought him a bad ass welder and HELPED pay for and repair all the damage he did to the truck and he still felt super in debt to Wade. Wade was totally cool with just the welder as compensation but if your brother isn't going to at least help you thats pretty low.

AMEN to all of your words.

like i said your brother NEEDS to help you.
he owes you that!

your brother is being such an uptight panzy about it.
and is royalling effing you over.

i bet he dont let you drive his mustang does he?

dude tell him to man up and at least help you.

if he dont, show him up and do it yourself.

there is enough of us on this board to help you.
not the mustang brother ho. different brother.

yes i hear all of you and i agree, but the catch for me is that i can do the swap and take his tires or he comes up and does most of the work and i gotta buy $1200 in tires. so, i think i d rather do most of the work myslef. :dunno:

and youll be SASd at thta point? i have my doubts...:gap:

but well see what happens. i keep getting pulled from working on the freaking red truck :tantrum: everytime i try too theres somethin else io gotta do.

bro i have a full time job im starting up and ill be saving half my checks.
ill be building an axle this winter and if its done before winter then ill be gathering parts for the sas and soon as i have everything.. ill be Swappin. i may save enough for the marlin 4in sas kit, and buy an axle.
then ill be set.

dude that sucks, work on the truck this weekend. get everything unhooked from the motor that will keep it from being pulled out. keep it as complete as possible.. that goes for both ther truck and 4runner... then it will be as easy as hoisting them out and dropping in the 4runner motor.

so i talekd to that guy i knew with the stockish ranger that was hanging with trucks with 35s!

2" lift and 30" tires.... had lockers or limited slip (depending on the year-during his build) front and rear, a stock and tired 2.8 with a C5, and his favorite mod: a Cagel fuel regulator which kept it running on steep inclines.

I don't know where you are getting off thinking that a stock yota won't keep up with a ranger.

When my truck was stock on 31's with nothing but rock sliders and a lock-rite in the rear i did trails like
-Hells revange (including hells gate)
-Poison spider mesa
-Golden Crack (including the crack, golden staircase)
-Gold Bar rim (including the wall)

And I only suffered body damage on the easiest trail we did, hey joe canyon, and that was simply my wheel base.

I would put me in my stock yota (if it was still stock) against a ranger built like your buddies ANYDAY!

(BTW I still do all thos trails, they are just way easy now!)
