Steve_925

got my longs today!!!! i was finally able to put together my front axle. i ended up relizing that my axle was crooked so i squared it up and i now have to cut my air bump mounts off and re-do them, thats going to suck.
you can also see how i remounted my radiator and fan, i also completly redid my exauhst. took 6 more inches out of the front end and cut the :pokinit: out of my fenders. the problem is now lights wont fit into the inside buckets, so im going to have to figure somthing out so it doesnt look funny.

Well, there is the other reason you dont have any get up and go in that motor. Your exhaust is to short. You dont have enough back pressure.

before the exaust went to the back of the cab and then up and dumped out behind the passengers head. it did help the power when i ran smaller tubing

i dunno about that exhaust.. seems like it would just add more heat to an already hot engine bay, plus more fumes to breathe.. looks like its almost touching your fan too? seems like the heat from the muffler might melt the fan and/or the belt..

why didnt you run it out the back?

Yeah, The problem is you oil will be crazy hot. I would put an oil cooler on it. and run a long tube header to get some back pressure.
If you see it, its for sale.

I agree on the exhaust.... you wont be happy with that location.... BUT your Toy is the :pokinit: keep the good work :beerchug:

Steve_925

you can see in the pic how i had my exauhst. that flex tube went to some schedule 40 pipe(2" i.d.) that was welded to my slider so i could slide on the exaust, then it went up and out. i cant really go any where else, it wont fit antwhere around my drivshaft and even if i ran it around the front of the engine and back, my upper link is in the way on the driver side. it is touching the fan and will probably melt it, but i really dont give a :pokinit:. it may heat up the oil a little, but so does bounsing it of the rev limiter. the only thing i dont like about it is that im am going to be sucking in some fumes

just finished up mounting my new aluminum radiator. worked out pretty well and fits much better. now i just have to have the outlet rewelded since it was pointing the wrong direction. i re-did my exaust for the 5th time, this one is crazyer than any of them. i put my exhaust into my slider. i was going to come out of my slider and into a muffler, but i got a crazy idea of making some baffles and sliding them into the tube and making my slider a muffler. IT WORKED. i didnt take any pics along the way but what i did is i took a piece of 1/2" hollow tube and welded little flaps to it. the flaps(baffles) run about 3 feet into the tube.hopfully it holds up.
in the picture you can see where my old exhaust was.
