acually now that i think about it having all that tubing it would be a pain to get things in and out of the bed of that
yeah that is the main disadvantage of building the tubing up high.  although i like the way it looks coming from the top of the main hoop down better.

i just picked up the fj80 rear axle, it has the E locker but no motor. got it for next to nothing. im gonna keep the 5.29 in the front and buy a 5.29 r&p for the 80
I am wondering if you can answer a question for me. I'm wanting to know if the spindles on the fj80 rear are the same as the spindles on a mini truck front axle. If you have them apart at the same time I would appreciate it if you could compare them. I am thinking the fj ends would be great for a FROR full float kit because they have an integrated e-brake. Does the place where you bought the axle have any more for sale for a low price?

I saw in your other thread that they were selling them for 75$. If this is the price I would be interested in picking one up. I don't care about the e-locker I mainly want the full float ends with disk brakes and mabey the spindles off of the housing. I think the first year or two of the fj80 were semi float with drum brakes. Were all the axles you saw disk brake?

My brother lives in the bay area and could pay for and pick up the axle for me. Let me know who I need to contact. Thanks for your help.

the guy had 2 more of them. tomorrow im gonna buy another one take a few things off of it that i need and swap the thirds.

not sure if i said this but the axle i bought with the e-locker didnt have a motor. so instead of trying to find a motor for it, im gonna put 5.29s in an open carrier and have it welded and sell the other axle with an e locker. give me your number and ill give you a call while im there

I think thats a good wheel base personally.

maybe not as much as an advantage for rocks only but on trails or taking lines threw rocks since your a little longer then most it actually gives you quite a few advantages more then disadvantages from my experiance.

my biggest concern is that since im so low its gonna get me hi centered easyer.
but with it longer its gonna be more stable on hillclimbs, desents, desert, proble side hill. and more cargo room.

so really its fine, but going from a 103" to a 118" WB will be different

I went from a 105" to 125" and I like it much better longer!
