Well i pick up my first 4 runner tomorrow. Here's what it is.
1987 Toyota 4 Runner Turbo SR5
22re W/Auto trans
It's pretty much stock except for 2" blocks in the rear to fix the saggin arse. It's got it's rust but that will be taken care of hopefully before winter.
Might be a little bit before i start modding it due to lack of job.I was involved in a car accident feb 29 of this year with a drunk driver,so i've been going through physical therapy and chiropractor to get me back on my feet.

So on with the pics. Thanks for stopping by and looking.

First major thing i want to do is sas and get a set of 33's.But right now i want to go thru and waterproof everything and get it running a little better.Seems a little sluggish.

NorCalToy

so is it a turbo ro what? or the engine had to be replaced and they didnt bother putting the turbo back on?

I'll have to check and see if thats there. Thanks man.

 you could probably find a set up on eBay, or ive seen a few posted for sale on here from time to time. im not sure if theyre really worth it though. most people do leave them off when they have to swap in a new engine. :dunno: i dont know whay. seems like it may be more of a :bling: thing than actually worth the effort of running it.

Picked up a set of 31x10.50x15's that are pretty much brand new for a $160.Not many mods done yet.Had to replace the fuel pump bracket all the way down to the new fuel filter.Did my rear extended diff breather, but can't get my front one to screw in. Heading out to the local off road park sunday to have a little fun.

BUDDERS

For your lack of hp concerns:  if it's the original engine that was rebuilt without a turbo, it probably has low compression.  If you think this is the case, I would do a compression check. A stock 22re is about 180psi per cylinder.  I would imagine a turbo 22re with lower compression would be around 150-160psi.

As for your sputting when driving through mud puddles, I would look under your air filter and see how much water is sitting in there after going through some of that mud.  If there is water collecting in there, then I would go with a ARB type air tube.  If water isn't in there, then it's probably getting in your distributor cap and you should try to waterproof that instead.
